2. From The Desk Of Mike Tasche
Hello Everyone,
First of all let me thank all of you that took advantage of our large inventory and purchased a vehicle from us. The
good news is we delivered 141 vehicles in December. We delivered over 50 different makes and models to custom-
ers in over 38 different zip codes, and 5 different states. Texas took the long distance honors with three vehicles
sold to customers there. Another great thing to see is 45 of those vehicles were Hyundai’s and we also delivered
close to half of our total vehicles to residents of Sheboygan County. Helping local customers get their dream car is
something we take very seriously.
Question of the Month
When I bought my car from Van Horn I noticed the family like atmosphere and the real care you showed to-
wards me, the customer. After that, each time I enter your dealership I always notice so many familiar faces
and the continued care.
My question is how do you keep all of your customers and employees happy?
First of all, thank you for noticing what we’re really all about. Customers have many choices
when purchasing a vehicle. I would guess there are upwards of 2,000 vehicles available in
Sheboygan County. These vehicles are offered by maybe a dozen or more dealerships. We
know that a happy customer is a customer that will come back again to purchase more cars.
We also understand that happy customers will refer their friends, neighbors, and relatives to
that dealership.
Why We’re Different From Traditional Dealerships
The first thing that customers want is a staff that is willing to listen to their needs and help you find an affordable
and dependable vehicle. So we like to get to know our customers. We want to be a part of your lives. We will high
five you when something exciting happens and we will also be saddened when things are not going so well. Same
thing goes for our employees; we are a part of their lives and spend a lot of time together.
Next we like to continue to offer new things. We have a customer service department that
stays in touch with you. This is seen with these newsletters, phone calls, emails, Facebook,
and our website.
Everyone that buys a vehicle from us is set up with an online service appointment setting sys-
tem. We offer you a chance to create a Google Testimonial and take a Hyundai survey. We
take your picture and offer you the chance to receive a mouse pad. To finish things off we
have a great Facebook Reward Program which just celebrated it’s first birthday!
Special Events For The Whole Family
We offer the opportunity to get involved with Halloween parties and other offerings like Nominating a Family in
Need. Last year we gave out over $1,000 in this area alone. We have weekly and monthly drawings for prizes.

3. Most recently there was the Christmas With Santa party for the kids. We had over 40 families
bring in their children to meet Santa and everyone left with a nice gift. These programs will
continue and we are always searching for new ideas to make the Van Horn experience second
to none.
We’re Here For You After The Sale
Next if problems do arise, we are committed to respond immediately. We can’t always fix eve-
rything that happens, but as I said before, happy customers keep coming back. We try to put
ourselves in your shoes. What would we want to see if we had a similar situation with a busi-
ness we deal with. Usually there is an amicable solution to keep everyone happy. Our contin-
ued success is seen by the fact that we have 1,000’s of happy customers.
One very big thing you notice when you buy a vehicle from us is we stay in touch with you.
This is important because you need to know about new sales, service specials, events, and just other things that are
happening at our dealership. There is usually some way that you can connect with us or just help us promote our
good business name by offering your great experience to others. Our surveys and testimonials are growing and the
word is definitely getting around that Van Horn Hyundai is a family friendly business offering great vehicles.
We Reward You For Staying Connected With Us
Finally, we believe in giving more than is expected and offering rewards for staying con-
nected. Our Facebook program and dealership display items are great examples of offering
great rewards. Over the past year we have offered hundreds of items for staying connected.
Christmas Presents, Thanksgiving Meals, Mothers and Father’s Day gifts, Car Care Books,
large stuffed animal toys for the kids, Breast Cancer Awareness Gifts, Brewers Tickets, Pam-
per Your Pets Prizes, Coloring Book Contests, Memorial Day Prizes, 4th of July Prizes, Oil
Changes, and finally cash prizes up to $100.
If you were the winner of some of these great prizes, congratulations! If you haven’t won yet stay connected be-
cause your time is coming.
I can tell you that we intend to continue these and more events in the future. Please share the news with your
friends, neighbors, and relatives. Van Horn and Hyundai really are the dealership and manufacture that covers you
for everything you need.
I hope you all enjoyed this information and I’m sure there will be more to come very soon. If you have any sugges-
tions or things you would like me to talk about in future editions of our Van Horn Compass please email me at

How To Take Care Of Your Vehicle Through The By: Marsha Kluss
Winter Months
1. Make sure all snow and ice is removed from wiper area and lift wipers
from windshield.
2. Do not pound ice that is on vehicle with ice scraper. This will cause dents
and scratches in paint.
3. Do not use a broom to remove snow off vehicle. There are actual snow brooms that
make the job a lot easier. See the parts department for details.
4. Do not leave your fuel tank on empty. If temperature is below 10 degrees use a
isopropyl in gas tank to prevent gas from freezing.
5. Do not wash your vehicle if the temperature is below 20 degrees. It can cause fuel
doors, vehicle doors, tailgates and lock cylinders to freeze.
6. If there is a heavy snow fall and your vehicle starts to shimmy or vibrate while driving
you may have snow packed in your wheels. Take your vehicle to a hand held car wash
and spray wheels to remove ice buildup.
7. Make sure you always have winter washer fluid to keep windshield clean for visibility
and from freezing.
8. It is always a good idea to keep gloves, blankets and jumper cables in your vehicle just
in case of an emergency.
9. Make sure all windows including windshield and back glass
are clear of ice and snow before driving.
10. Be aware of the temperature outside. Roads can turn slippery
from one area to the next and black ice can form.

5. The All New Genesis Coupe By: Francis Caltetux
You HAVE to see the all new Hyundai Genesis Coupe at the Autoshow in Chicago or
Milwaukee. This could be the future standard of sports cars. The finished product
incorporates quite a few cues from other Hyundai’s like the Veloster.
I imagine this will be another Hyundai that we can hardly keep on the lot!
While the Genesis coupe is one of Hyundai’s upscale and more unique models, it was styled
to resemble some of Hyundai’s other models. You will see some hints of Elantra and perhaps
even the Accent.
The overall design reminds me quite a bit of that used on the Veloster — and seeing as that
model is also trying to serve as a (smaller) sporty coupe we’re not shocked to see Hyundai’s
giving both cars some similar design DNA.
Expect more information to emerge over the next few months as the facelifted Genesis
Coupe is expected to publically debut this month.
Leave it to Hyundai to set the bar high for the competition.
To learn more about any of this and all the incredible Hyundai products ask for Francis
“Baldy” Calteux in the sales department.
