1. Valossa Can Help You Find the Movie of Your Dreams. Literally.
Article Date : Sept. 23, 2015
So, you’ve got the desire to watch a movie, but you can’t conjure up a specific
movie name. Rather, a single element of the flick contained within a movie or
movie genre is all you’ve got to work with. All you know e.g. is that you want to
see something specific, like “dogs eating spaghetti” (“Lady and the Tramp”) or
perhaps scantily-clad ninjas (umm…). Until now, a user could wade through the
web trying to find a movie that maybe, just maybe, had such elements.
Enter Finnish startup Valossa, a participant at this year's TechCrunch
Disrupt conference in San Francisco. Their proprietary "Deep Content" research
allows everything we can see and hear in a video, but could not mechanically
analyze until now.
2. This deep content technology, currently in beta, includes transcripts, audio,
visual patterns, and other forms of data feeds that give a description to the video
content.
Ville Hulkko, CCO of Valossa, explained to Money's Edge, "Currently our
technology is hosting thousands of English language titles, ranging from movies
released in the middle of this year toall the way back to 1900, with more being
added as we progress.”
In their technology, once the analysis is completed with the deeper levels of the
video, it is automatically converted into complex content models. The models are
matched with user's intent by the power of their engine, incorporating a cognitive
machine learning system that understands natural language queries.
The implications are truly beneficial for movie watchers, as it will help enable
highly relevant, autonomous insertion of real-time video discovery &
recommendations for live TV, and recommendation of relevant content in real-
time through a SmartTV / Set-Top Box. Compatibility is assured across platforms
with Mac® OS, Microsoft® Windows® and Linux®. Additionally this server-
side technology enables virtually identical, if not even more sophisticated,
functionality to the newly announced Apple® TV OS for any system provider.
3. Valossa also integrates with all leading voice platform vendors, such as
Amazon®, Apple, Google® and Microsoft.
Mika Rautiainen, CEO of Valossa stated, "We have made our technology
accessible for demo testing and evaluation, which is designed to prove our
product enables a superior video search experience to anything currently in the
market. Simply go to Whatismymovie.com to see for yourself."
So next time you want to see a movie containing anything you desire – be it
talking donkeys (“Shrek”) or vampire love stories (too many to count) – count on
Valossa to help you find it.
