- The benefits related to the use of a controlled language are many when a translation is needed. A text written in CL is unambiguous and simplier to trnaslate, it could not even require a translation. When a translation is required, anyway, the use of a CL can dramatically reduce costs thanks to the elimination of redundances and to a better uniformity in terminology. In multilingual documentation, translation weights upont costs and time to market. CL's simplification reduces not only translation, but also revision costs. Lehrndorfer e Mangold affirm that costs reduction in translation after the use of a CL depend on the source and target languages. Predefined terminology, besides, leads to a faster translation process. The translator won't think about the meaning of each term, because he can count on terminology databases. In the example, before the application of STE, manuals had 67.300 words and 454 pages per each. After riformulating in STE, manuals counted 49.600 and pages were 406.
