Key outcomes
1. Control the budgetingand forecasting processfor the group
Ensure informationflowscorrectlythroughthe model,assessreasonablenessand economicviability
of outputandmake appropriate recommendationsforrequiredadjustmentsthereonpriorto
finalization.Preparefinal annual budgetpresentationforBoard.
Prepare periodiccashflowandcapital forecasts undervariousscenariosforthe grouptoensure
minimumcashandcapital requirementsundereachscenarioare knowninadvance,andto inform
dividendproposals.
2. Run a monthlycost accounting function
Ensure accurate allocationof budgetedandactual costswithinthe general ledgerandprovide
monthlymanagementaccountstodepartments.Implementsuitable follow upwhere actualsdiffer
materiallyfrombudgetanddevelopframeworkof accountabilityforvariances.Providefinancial
trendand keyratioanalysisona monthlybasistoidentifyareasof concern/opportunity.
3. Control Financial and Viabilityanalysisfor the group
Use knowledgeof SAHL'sincome/coststructure todevelopappropriatefinancial modelswith
modellingspecialisttoassess(i) viabilityof products/channel /groupstructuresandmake
recommendationsastoareas of improvement;and(ii) toassessnew businessopportunities.
4. Manage group tax reporting
Implementaframeworktomanage grouptax (all taxes:income,VAT) andtoensure thattax affairs
includingperiodicreturnsandsubmissionsare alwayscompliantandasefficientaspossible.
