2. One patient brought in the causality with history of
severe abdominal pain and vomiting so what
would be the perfect diagnostic test to evaluated
the patient…….?
3. 1794:- the first to study echolocation among bats,
which forms the basis for ultrasound physics.
1915:- Inspired by the sinking of the Titanic,
Physicist Paul Langevin was invent a device that
detected objects at the bottom of the sea. Laugevin
invented a hydrophone – what the World first
Ultrasound in Medical Education refers to as the
“first transducer”
1942 – Neurologist Karl is credited with being the
first to use sonography for medical diagnoses. He
transmitted an ultrasound beam through the human
skull in attempts of detecting brain tumors.
4. Ultrasonography is a
non-invasive
procedure for
visualizing soft-tissue
structures of the body,
by recording the
reflection of high
frequency sound
waves directed into
the tissues.
Frequency range:-
2-15 MHz

8. The transducer convert one type of energy into
another based upon Pulse-echo principle where
electricity convert into sound called pulse, and
sound convert into electricity called Echo, the
transducer placed on the patient skin and emits high
frequency sound waves. When these sound waves
bounce off the organ or target part they create on
echo. The data created from echo is what makes up
image on the monitor.
