The Urban Gateway saw active engagement during UN-Habitat’s 24th Governing
Council (GC24) held April 15-19 2013 in Nairobi, Kenya. We presented recent
developments of the platform and also gathered GC experiences from various

GC24 brought together 1144 delegates from 107 countries with broad repre-
sentation from governments, local authorities, private sector, civil society and
media. It focused on the theme Sustainable Urban Development: The Role of
Cities In Creating Improved Economic Opportunities For All, With Special Ref-
erence To Youth and Gender.
