What opportunities, if any, do you offer to schools in the area?
“Artistic Highlights of the Conservatory, a 45 min. program that combines the gardens and exhibiting
artists for grades 3rd – 8th.”
Is there anything you offer specifically to lower-income schools?
“Yes, we offer reduced program fees for schools that meet certain requirements.”
What resources, if any, do you have for art teachers?
“We host an open house event for teachers.
The Conservatory is a great resource in and of itself! The Hot Shop, live glass blowing demonstrations
with Q & A’s with a Gaffer. Dale Chihuly glass and interpretation is permanently on exhibit.
Additionally, we have special exhibits from local, national and international artists each year.”
Do you have any activities or events for students and/or families outside of school - on the weekend or in
evenings?
“Family Fun is free with paid admission on the weekends, it is a hands-on program with a craft or guest
speaker highlighting an exhibit or event that is going on at that time. We also have classes (art,
environment and cooking) and summer camp for kids.”
Is there any other information would you want art teachers to have about your program?
“The Community Outreach and Education Department offers a variety of programs for students of all
ages. Some topics covered are gardening, butterflies, plant science and art to name a few.”

Pizzuti. Includes galleries, sculpture garden, and a public resource library. Offers educational
programs, lectures, artist talks, and special events.
featured interview: Mark Zuzik | Programs Coordinator
What opportunities, if any, do you offer to schools in the area?
Currently opportunities take the form of school tours. The Pizzuti Collection welcomes schools of all
levels to visit and receive tours free of charge. Visits can be tailored to highlight specific connections to
coursework. We tour all ages, from pre-k to graduate level and can offer flexible scheduling.
Is there anything you offer specifically to lower-income schools?
In the future we hope to provide transportation assistance to lower-income schools. We have also
partnered with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus to offer guided tours at no cost.
What resources, if any, do you have for art teachers?
The Pizzuti Collection provides an downloadable guide for teachers and parents to help prepare their
students/family for their visit. The guide highlights 10 artworks featured in the exhibition and provides
information about the artists, artworks, and images of the works and artists. There is also a number of
exhibition catalogs available for educators at no cost to use as they plan their visit. Staff are available to
speak with educators about what to expect during their visit and can work to accommodate a variety of
ages and styles of visit.
Do you have any activities or events for students and/or families outside of school - on the weekend or in
evenings?
The Pizzuti Collection is open on Saturdays and provides a children’s tour at 11:30 AM and a walk-in
tour at 2:00 PM every Saturday. We are also working to continue our Family Day program, sponsored
by Big Lots. The program extends our open hours (first Sunday of the month) at no cost for all visitors.
Families can take advantage of hourly tours, and simple scavenger hunts and sketchbooks at no cost.
We anticipate this program to resume in 2016. Scavenger Hunts and Sketchbooks are available for
class visits and young visitors at all times.
Is there any other other information would you want art teachers to have about your program?
The Pizzuti Collection has many public resources available. Our library is available for research by
appointment and features materials about artists currently on view along with many monographs,
periodicals, and exhibition and auction catalogs. Additionally, each artist shown at the Pizzuti Collection
has their own dedicated page on our website providing summary information, examples of their work in
the collection, and links to additional resources.
Pizzuti Collection staff are always available to discuss visits and provide walk-though experiences of
the exhibitions to assist with planning visits. This includes our Educator Appreciation period (tentatively
scheduled for February and March 2016) during which educators receive free admission.

and Writing. They may participate in grad-level courses created in tandem with Wex programs.
