This curriculum vitae summarizes the career and qualifications of an individual seeking a challenging position utilizing their skills in engineering. They have over 5 years of experience as a guest lecturer and research fellow. Their education includes a PhD in materials engineering from Jadavpur University. Their research focuses on developing coated electrodes for welding ductile iron and characterizing the microstructure and properties after austempering heat treatment.
My research is focused on the development and characterization of stimuli (e.g. electric field/magnetic field) responsive smart polymeric materials.
I worked with dielectric elastomer (e.g. VHB F9473PC, VHB 4905 , PDMS) to yield electric field actuated smart structures. Then I started working with PVDF-based polymers . My study includes lab scale casting of thin films, electrical & mechanical characterization of polymer/elastomer, realization of smart structures using electroactive polymers(EAPs) and analytical modelling of smart materials.
1.1 Classification of engineering materials.
1.2 Crystal structure, Unit cell and space lattice
1.3 Microstructure, types of microscopes
1.4 Sample preparation, etching process, types of etchant.
1.5 Properties of metals Physical Properties, Mechanical Properties.
1.6 Hardness testing procedure on Brinell and Rockwell tester

2. Titleof the thesis:
Development and characterization of coated electrode introducing nano particles compatible to
austempered ductile iron (ADI).
Research Objectives of Ph.D
To develop coated electrode compatible with ductile iron welding and response to
austempering treatment.
To assess the addition of nano particles (CeO2) to the flux coating of electrodes partially
substituting the coarser particles.
To determine welding conditions (operating window) to produce defect-free weld in as-
welded ductile iron.
To vary the austempering heat treatment cycle to assess the microstructure and mechanical
properties.
Microstructural characterization of weld metals and HAZ of welded ADI by optical
microscopy (OM), SEM and TEM and phase analysis by XRD.
To evaluate hardness, tensile, impact toughness and fatigue properties of the weldments.
To find out optimum welding and austempering conditions for improved and matching
properties of ADI weldments.
