Oceans.
Population - more than 340 million people.
Neighbours - Canada to the north
and Mexico to the south.

in a federal republic.
 On 4th
July 1776 the Declaration of Independence was
signed and new nation was established.
The head of state
is the President.

The highest mountains are situated
in the western part of the country.
The Rocky Mountains with the highest peak
Mt. Whitney (4,421 m high).
The Alaska Range with the highest peak
Denali (6,190 m high).

- Niagara Falls lie between lakes Erie and Ontario.

In the north (Alaska) there is the artic climate.
In the south (Florida) the climate is subtropical.
Favourite holiday lands are California and Florida.
