This document provides an overview of CorelDRAW, a vector graphics software. It explains that CorelDRAW allows users to create professional artwork and illustrations through vector-based drawing tools. Vector graphics are resolution independent and allow objects to be scaled or modified without loss of quality. The document also defines pixels and bitmaps, describing pixels as the smallest addressable elements on a display and bitmaps as file formats for storing digital images as a map of bits. It notes several components of the CorelDRAW interface, including tools, properties, and navigational bars.
2. COREL DRAW – MEANING
Corel draw is a vector based drawing software that
makes it easy to create professional artwork from
simple logos to intricate technical illustrations.
It provides tools and effects that make it possible to
work efficiently to produce high-quality graphics
3. Drawings in coreldraw are vector based objects
drawn are defined mathematically as a series of points
joined by lines.
Graphical elements in a vector file called objects.
Each object is a self contained entity, with
properties such as color, shape, outline, size and
position on the screen inclued in its definintions
4. Because each object is a self contained entity, it is
also prossible to move and change its properties freely
while maintaining its original clarity and without
affecting other objects in the drawing.
These characteristics make vector based
applications ideal for illustrations and they are
resolution independent.
5. PIXELS
In deigital imaging, a pixel or pel is the smallest
addressable element in a display device
LCD pixels are manufactured in a two dimenstional
grid and are often represented using dots or squares.
A Camera with 2.0 megapixels - two million pixels
6. BITMAP IMAGE
In computer graphics, a bitmap or pixmap is a file
format used to store digital images.
The term bitmap comes from the computer
terminology, meaning just a map of bits, a spatially
mapped array of bits.
7. BITMAP IMAGE

greatly enlarged, in which the individual pixels are
rendered as little squares and can easily be seen
