This document outlines the criteria for passing, merit, and distinction for a unit on performing dance. To pass, a student must attend class and rehearsals cooperatively, demonstrate basic physical and interpretive dance skills, and show an awareness of stylistic qualities in their performance. To receive merit, a student must demonstrate discipline, accurate skills application, assured use of style, and review their own performance strengths and weaknesses with reasoning. To earn distinction requires high commitment, thorough skills application, excellent style use, in-depth self-review with conclusions, and significant performance improvements from rehearsal commitment.
