3:11 = Three eleven
4:15 = Four fifteen
5:30 = Five thirty
6:34 = Six thirty-four
8:45 = Eight forty-five
9:57 = Nine fifty-seven

2:05 = Five past two
3:11 = Eleven past three
4:15 = A quarter past four
5:30 = Half past five
6:34 = Twenty-six to seven
8:45 = A quarter to nine

A.M. (ante meridien)
for the morning
P.M. (post meridien)

a.m. 00:00 – 11:59
p.m. 12:00 – 23:59
3 a.m. = Three o'clock in the morning.
