Lesson 1: There is No Playbook.
No one will ever tell you that you are ready.
You don’t need anyone’s permission.
It will always feel scary and intimidating to do something for the
ﬁrst time.
Take it one step at a time.

Lesson 2: Bet on Yourself and Dream Big.
Create a vision for your future without restriction.
Anything is possible, but you have to be both patient and
determined.
Each time you reach a new milestone, you'll keep gaining
conﬁdence to get to the next one, and the next one.

Know that it is normal to feel lonely, especially if you are the ﬁrst in your
family to work in tech, or the ﬁrst to start a business.
Your family might not understand or even support you in the beginning
but be patient.
Reframe this as an opportunity to pave the way for future Latinx and to
increase representation.
Lesson 3: Keep Pushing.

Continuously focus on your personal growth.
Read books on the industries you are interested in, attend webinars
and events, follow people you admire on Linkedin, Instagram and
Twitter.
Create a support system: I personally have an executive coach and
group of founders who I talk to on a regular basis.
Lesson 4: Scale Yourself.

Last Thoughts: Being Latinx
What I learned from my Latinx and immigrant heritage:
• Grit
• Determination
• Drive
• Ability to learn quickly
• Take risks
• Perspective
