UCF Cares is an initiative which seeks to categorize an extensive source of

It is an initiative that endeavors to help UCF feel like a smaller University by
“building a culture of care, one Knight at a time.”
Answer:
3. WHAT DOES UCF CARES WANT?
UCF Cares wants every Knight to care about the health and safety of their peers,
and feel comfortable empathetically connecting them to the appropriate
resources.
WHAT DOES UCF CARES DO?
Assists in connecting students, staff and faculty with…
1. …care related resources and programs focused on health and safety.
2. ...finding an appropriate network of support.
3. …connecting to advocate programs.
4. …care-related education and training.
Questions:
1. Why would UCF feel interested in wanting to build a more caring
culture?

Did you think of someone who cared for you? Or maybe you thought
about the people you have cared for?

• You’re standing in line at the Subway in the Wellness Center,
when you hear a couple of people in front of you quietly
making fun of another person off to the side.

They often tell you that they just feel overwhelmed, or that
they can’t look at their homework without crying.
• “Yesterday I thought about doing the homework, but instead I
just went on Netflix,” they tell you, “I spent the whole day on
Netflix. I’m going to fail this class.”
• One day your friend asks, “Do you ever feel like you can’t
handle this anymore?” and later confides in you that they feel
like they might have undiagnosed depression, but they don’t
know.

to you at all.
• One day you find that the apartment has been completely

• You knock on your roommate’s door, and find that your
roommate is passed out on the bed. There’s an empty handle
of vodka next to them.
