OK, that all sounds great but really what is it?
Well, let me explain to you my point of view. Traditionally a business
card is what a professional person carries around with them to use as
an introduction, to network with other professionals. Business cards
are also used by sales reps and small business owners.
Of course we still use them today!

Over the last 10 years businesses around the world are changing and
adapting to the new way of marketing their products and services.
These same companies are utilising the power of the Internet for
marketing, communication and sales.
So really it is longer than ten years, but it is only in the last ten years
that we have seen such a dramatic change. The next time you watch
television, count how many ads are using a website domain name
(.com) in their advertising.
The Internet is now a place where anyone, can market any
product or service to anyone interested in buying it. The Internet
(WWW) is now a brilliant place for any individual to make a living
from marketing to others 24 / 7 with very low costs or overheads.
Having your presence / brand online is the way to make your
business more accessible and therefore increase your customer base
and increase your profit margins.

This is your way of reaching as many people as you can through a
website, blog and social media.
The Internet is now available on any modern smart device.
Millions of people now have broadband at home or access to the net
locally. The world has become a smaller place because of this
technology.
Unless the Earth suffers a meteor shower from space, our
satellites will keep the Internet alive … it is here to stay.
Even our home appliances have computer chips in them – today! You
can control your home's security, heating, lights etc. All from a smart
device from anywhere you have net access. You can even tell your
kettle to boil while you are still in bed! More coffee, please!

EMBRACE THE 21ST
CENTURY TECHNOLOGY
The 21st Century Technology is moving so fast it makes you dizzy!
But, it also helps people like you and I with the advancements being
made by many clever brains. App’s was a keyword in 2014 and these
things make life simpler with automation. On the internet you have to
learn to work smarter not harder!
Readymade (CMS) Content Management Systems like
WordPress or Joomla make it easy to create a Blog or Website.
If you can “copy and Paste”, and use E-mail, then you have the basic
skills to start.
You do NOT need to be an expert in computer language
(Html.Php.Mysql) and you don't need to be a whiz on the computer
either. Any work, or part of a project that needs to be outsourced, can
be done quite easily saving you time to concentrate on what you need
to be doing – building your business / blog.

The first step to success in any business is YOU having the right
MINDSET.
Mind-set in simple terms = Attitude.
Do you have the right attitude to move forward with your online
business?
What we are looking for here is the right frame of mind to empower
yourself towards reaching and achieving the goals and tasks ahead of
you.
Working for you will take time and effort, focus and direction,
organisation and communication skills and the willingness to improve
and develop your own skills and knowledge on an on-going basis.
Adapt and change to the market environment and customer needs is
the requirement for any business to be successful.

The yanks call this PMA. (Positive Mental Attitude).
In essence we all have the ability to use PMA in our personal and
business lives.
One of the easiest ways to achieve this mind-set is to read
Self-improvement books or, listening to self-improvement
audio tracks. Another method is to use affirmations on a daily
basis.
Connect with a mentor.
Communicate with other like-minded people.
Now, going back to the business mind-set – you have to be prepared
for failure in order to achieve success. Some of our great inventions
were created by people from all types of backgrounds, who did NOT
give up on the first failed attempt!
Did you ever learn to ride a bicycle or learn to swim?
How many times did it take you to reach a level of competency and
become confident in your new achievement?
Believe me, “Repetition is the mother of all skills”!
Try, try again, learn to adapt, try again, and learn to adapt more, try
again and then see the results change in your favor.

The traits of an Entrepreneur.
 Self -Confident. More you do it, the better you get!
 Risk -Takers. Prepare to fail before you succeed.
 Intuition. Able to use own initiative and get work done.
 Honesty. Reliable and trustworthy. Become a Leader.
 Ability to Focus. Goals.
 Determination. Consistently strives for improvement.
 Delegation. Outsource work or projects.
 Budget. Awareness of how to use money as a tool

GOAL PLAN is what every savvy Entrepreneur or Business Person
needs in order to reach the success they so eagerly desire.
Basically setting goals enables you to focus on achieving and
completing tasks within a set time frame.
Now put this into perspective with a business and you can see that
there might be a goal plan for;
 Sales targets per month or quarter or year
 Achieving excellent customer service
 Time frame for production
 Reducing raw material costs
 Research and development
 Training and motivating
All areas or aspects of any business when set into goals, means that
you are moving forward as these are accomplished.

In other words step by step
Building a Business by setting targets (goals /tasks).
Break down the mind boggling overload of information into
manageable chunks of achievable portions.
Goal Plans can be used for both your Personal Life and your Business
Life.
When you create these plans remember to set them into a time frame,
log them into your diary or calendar. Give each one a High or Low
Priority. As you complete your tasks / goals you are moving forward
in your long term project. As you gain more experience and
knowledge it will become second nature to you. As time goes by you
will also discover new methods to save time and costs, so it is also
very important that we review and re-evaluate our goals.
Go ahead and grab your pen and paper or pc!

Now write out a list of things that you:
 Want to fix around the home / garage
 Want to achieve for yourself – personal
 Desire to have in your life (car /2nd home/more savings etc.)
 Need to do to improve your lifestyle (get healthy?)
After creating some lists, evaluate them and decide which items are
more important or urgent. Let's go ahead and tackle them. Set out a
time frame to do each and write down a reward that you will give to
yourself for finishing them.
(Timeframe = 1x week, 3xmonths, 1x year etc.)
It is important to reward yourself and recognise all the good work you
are doing!
Now you are armed with a of what you want to achieve and
a time frame to achieve it all in. You can move onto the next step.
1. Know yourself...........................................Belief
2. Know what you want..................................Motivation
3. Know where you are going...........................Focus and Direction
4. Know how you are going to get there.............TAKE ACTION

Foundations are what buildings are set on! (lol)
The foundation of a Business is your Business Plan. If, like me you
have never made one before, then simply go out there and get some
info / advice on how to implement one. There is plenty of free info on
the web.
Seriously, working online is a business NOT a hobby!
If you really want success from an online business then it is going to
take some work, sorry but true!
What are the foundations that you need?

 Vision

 Marketing
 Communication
 Product

OK. Now we get down to the brass tacks!
Construction – putting it all together. Let's get you online.
A) Domain Name (URL)........recommend... Namecheap
Every website or blog needs a domain name or URL. This should be
specific to the topic of the website yet some companies decide to
choose their own unique name. A domain name / URL can be
purchased from anywhere but I recommend the company Namecheap.

Generally the cost varies depending on your choice of URL ending
(.com) (.org)(.co.uk)(.biz) etc...
You pay a yearly license fee for your URL and this is usually less
than $13 per annum.
Once you have decided and purchased your own URL, the next step
will be to link this new Domain Name with your Hosting Company.
This means changing the DNS settings within the Namecheap back
office.
Your hosting provider will Email this setting to you.
If you are not ready to use your own domain, our hosting
company AIOP will give you a subdomain to use free.
Namecheap also has its own affiliate program.
You can refer others to use the service and get a reward for doing so!
One big tip here: Everything you do with your Business online should
have an ROI. (Return on Investment)

B) Hosting company we recommend ….....................AIOP
Again there are many, many hosting companies out there all with

Once a member. You can request your hosting from products tab
(pic1) in back office, Then scroll down to (pic2).

You will receive a confirmation E-mail from AIOP with your login
details for your new C-Panel control.
NB# Keep this safe and print of a copy for your records.

Once you have received an email from AIOP, you can then set up the
DNS in the Namecheap back office.
Namecheap back office: domain manager: select your domain name:
look over to the left for DNS settings, change box 1 and box 2. Save.
Congratulations done!

Next we need to Install WordPress onto your hosting.
In order to action this you will need to go to your hosting c-panel.
(refer to your AIOP email)
Example: (http://www.yourdomainname.com/cpanel)
1. Log into your hosting c-panel and scroll down to Softaculous
App’s and click on the Logo - WordPress
2. Then click on Install
Simply follow the instructions.
NB# I recommend you set back-ups to none as you can use a plugin
to do this job.

Congratulations again!
Now you have WordPress installed. You can now start setting up your
blog or website. Select a theme for style. Make your adjustments.
NB# (Make sure that you delete the dummy page and dummy post.)
Replace with your own. Now you are a blogger! Just add content.
There are free themes and premium themes. Premium themes are
generally of higher quality and can be niche or topic specific.
Premium themes can cost from $0 -$150 depending on where you
look.

Onto step 5: Marketing … will take too long to cover in depth. I
want to give you a summary then you can proceed further, yourself.
Branding … is your number one thing to start you off here. You need
to brand yourself online with a Logo or Catchphrase that pertains to
you or your business. The purpose of branding is twofold. First to
present yourself professionally and second to build a reputation.
Social Media is a big asset in this process.
Communication … is vital to keep engaged with clients / prospects.
This can be a live chat on your site, or a Newsletter set up with an
Auto responder like AIOP Pro responder. Keep your audience
engaged with Informative, Quality, content that offers Value to them.
(Advice, freebies, tips, etc.)
Customer Service . . . the essential ingredient for sales and feedback.
Feedback is very important. It can be just your contact email, live chat
or the use of software on your server providing a Help desk.
(example: OS Ticket – FREE)

Online Marketing is all about getting your site attention in the big
(WWW) arena. We call it Organic TRAFFIC. (People)
Depending on the topic or subject of your site, it makes sense to
market where the potential hungry customers are- right?
Where do you market ?
 Other websites with banners or ads
 Forums – where people connect with your subject / topic
 Classifieds
 YouTube and other Social Media
 Press Releases – about you and your business
 Articles . And online Ezine's.
 Through “loss leaders “, your freebie giveaways.
 By Joining Forces with others in your field.

These are x3 main business social sites. Again there are hundreds out
there, but these in particular work for me

Motivation and Focus.
This step refers back to the initial goal planning. In order for you to
stay focused you need to push yourself but at the same time recognise
your achievements and reward yourself for the accomplishment of
tasks and goals along the way.
I have an image screen saver on my pc, reminding me of what I want
to achieve. Pictures that Motivate me each day.
Visualisation is the secret here. Use the power in your brain to sense
what it will feel like when you achieve that new car!
How does it feel to sit in luxury?
What does new car leather smell like?
How smooth is the driving?
What colour is the car?
Alloys or tinted windows?
Do you get the picture , see it, feel it, hear it.
Find out what motivates you and surround yourself with motivation.
Focus will come as long as you stay on course with your own
direction of goals and tasks, both personal and business.

As you progress as a business professional, your business will
progress with your new found knowledge and experience.
Having a bad day? Well everyone does. My advice to you is to take a
step back, reflect on the situation and then conquer the problem with a
solution.
Focus may seem hard with distractions so make sure that your work
place (if at home) is away from TV, Kids etc....
(Or use quality headphones to block out the distractions).
The only other valuable advice is common sense,
Make use of a diary, wall planner or calendar.
Whatever you buy or sell. Keep your records of the transactions.
Remember, we are Professionals not Hobbyists!
You are responsible for your own actions and your own taxes in your
country!
If you need help ask for it!
You might benefit from a Mentor or engaging with other like-minded
professionals.
