4. WP5 objectives
The specific objectives are to
1. Assess the interoperability of European IIS and identify
opportunities for standardization
2. Test the feasibility of doing cross-Europe harmonized
estimations of MMR vaccine coverage using available IIS
3. assess and describe European vaccine reminder and
recall systems to inform future development of such
systems within IIS
4. based on the MMR vaccination coverage data obtained
(2) perform a feasibility study for a coordinated cross-
border measles vaccination campaign

Lack of semantic interoperability of IIS related to use of different
data models, coding practices and insufficient
classifications/nomenclature for vaccines and vaccine products
Different methods used for estimating vaccination coverage
Information on vaccination coverage is published in European
reports with delays or on national websites
No timely European overview of vaccination coverage
