This is my account. A tiny bio & picture. And then, “microposts” … 140 characters or fewer to answer the question: “What are you doing?”

Businesses also use this to respond to people talking about their brands.
It can also be used to track things … outbreak of influenza for example … how many people have certain words in their posts?
This is you TALKING … but who’s listening? Who are you listening to?

Few more things … you can just post your updates, but that’s kind of like talking to yourself.
You can also follow people … and depending on your privacy settings … they can follow you .
And that’s where it gets interesting … getting these updates from people / organizations / news.
I get MOST of my news from twitter.

I find it’s easier to look through who your friends are following … those are the folks you’re connected to here
Just look for people you know are on …

Don’t show everyone’s photos
DO protect your tweets if you have any concerns
You can update your password here
You can post updates on twitter from your phone … if you set it up that way.
You can turn off notices // want an email when you get a direct message? Ot when someone follows you?
