This technical service bulletin provides instructions for addressing harsh 1-2 and 2-3 shifts in certain Ford vehicles with 6F35 transmissions. The service procedure involves checking and adjusting the transmission fluid level, then reprogramming the PCM with the latest calibration. Resetting the adaptive shift strategy may result in firmer shifts during the relearning process over several days. Eligible vehicles under warranty can have this work done to correct the condition.
