On Thursday, August 8th
, 2013, the Varsity and JV Cross Country runners are all invited for a trip to DeRuyter, NY.
The trip includes some lake time at the Jones family cottage, the Tromptown 5K race, and the DeRuyter Firemen’s Field
Days. Here is the itinerary:
10:00AM: Meet at CVHS and depart (Mr. Jones and one or two parent volunteers will be driving)
11:00AM: Arrive at the Jones family cottage (459 West Lake Road, DeRuyter, NY)
11:00 – 2:00: Swimming, boating, skiing, tubing, volleyball, yard games
2:30PM: Pasta meal
3:00 – 4:45: More Lake fun
4:45PM: Head into the village of DeRuyter, register for the race, warm-up
6:00PM: Start of the Tromptown 5K race
6:20ish: Finish, cool-down, stretch, and head into the DeRuyter Firemen’s Field Days
8:00PM: Depart from DeRuyter
9:00ish: Return to CVHS
The only expense for the trip is the $20 registration fee for the 5K (if you register online at

, it is only
$15). Kids may also want to have money to buy food or rides at the Firemen’s Field Days after the race. They may also
want to by a souvenir T-shirt.
