The former Chief Executive Officer of DriverSide, Trevor Traina, accepted the mayor’s invitation to sit on the council. Mr. Traina has launched a number of start-up companies over the course of his career and presently serves as the CEO of Traina Interactive Corp.

2. Introduction
In April 2011, the mayor of San Francisco, Edwin M. Lee, and
several other city officials decided to form an ad hoc advisory
council to discuss policies affecting technology companies.
Mayor Lee invited leaders and legal representatives from Bay
Area companies such as Yelp!, Twitter, and DriverSide, Inc., to
participate in the group. Together, the council considered an
array of issues, including the city’s technology infrastructure and
its current tax structure.

3. The Bay Area: A Hub for Technology
Mayor Lee and other city officials want to ensure that the Bay
Area remains a hub for technology innovation and creation.
However, they also want to propose several changes to the tax
structure that would affect technology-based companies.
Ultimately, the mayor hopes that by collaborating with the
technology advisory council, the city government will be able to
improve the local economy.
