The impact of user interfaces for CAT on time, quality and user satisfactionLisa Koeman
The document summarizes research into the impact of different user interfaces for computer-aided translation (CAT) on translation time, quality, and user satisfaction. It presents results from an experiment comparing eight translation interfaces. Key findings include:
1) "Document view" interfaces resulted in significantly less time spent on translations but significantly better quality and user preference compared to "sentence view" interfaces.
2) The research contributed to the existing field of CAT by looking at how translation interfaces impact translator behavior.
3) Results could be used to inform the development of future translation interfaces, though the study recommends further research.
The document presents a compartmental model for characterizing the spread of malware in peer-to-peer (P2P) networks like Gnutella. The model partitions peers into compartments based on their state - those wishing to download (S), currently downloading (E), having downloaded (I), and no longer interested (R). Differential equations track changes between compartments over time. Simulation results show the model effectively captures the impact of parameters like peer online/offline switching rates and quarantine strategies on malware intensity. The model improves on prior work by incorporating user behavior dynamics and limiting malware spread to a node's time-to-live range.
User Identity Verification Using Mouse SignatureIOSR Journals
This document proposes a novel method for user identity verification using mouse signature. It captures mouse events such as mouse movements, clicks, and silences during a user's interaction with a canvas application. Features are extracted from these events to create a unique mouse signature for the user, which is stored in a database. When a user logs in, their current mouse signature is generated and compared to the stored signature to verify their identity. If the signatures match above a threshold like 80%, the user is authenticated. This adds an additional layer of security beyond just usernames and passwords. The system was designed to be more accurate than existing histogram-based approaches by verifying each individual mouse action.

De-virtualizing virtual Function Calls using various Type Analysis Technique...IOSR Journals
This document discusses techniques for optimizing virtual function calls in object-oriented programming languages. Virtual function calls are indirect calls that involve lookup through a virtual function table (VFT) at runtime, which has performance overhead compared to direct calls. Various static analysis techniques like Class Hierarchy Analysis (CHA) and Rapid Type Analysis (RTA) aim to resolve some virtual calls by determining the possible target types and replacing indirect calls with direct calls if a single target is possible. CHA uses the class hierarchy and declared types to determine possible target types, while RTA also considers instantiated types in the program to further reduce possible targets. The document analyzes examples to demonstrate how CHA and RTA can optimize some virtual calls.
No Wonder It's So Hard To Make Money Online!believe52
The document discusses the problem of information overload that internet marketers face. They are constantly bombarded by new offers and programs claiming to help make money online. This causes internet marketers to get distracted and switch between different projects without fully developing any of them. The document provides five tips to help internet marketers fix this issue: 1) only check emails at set times, 2) commit to developing one project at a time without deviating, 3) make to-do lists, 4) set aside dedicated productive time each day, and 5) only work on one money-making project at a time until it is successful or proven not to work. The key is maintaining focus on one idea or program until completion.

Making Use of the Linked Data Cloud: The Role of Index StructuresThomas Gottron
The intensive growth of the Linked Open Data Cloud has spawned a web of data where a multitude of data sources provides huge amounts of valuable information across different domains. Nowadays, when accessing and using Linked Data more and more often the challenging question is not so much whether there is relevant data available, but rather where it can be found and how it is structured. Thus, index structures play an important role for making use of the information in LOD cloud. In this talk I will address three aspects of Linked Data index structures: (1) a high level view and categorization of indices structures and how they can be queried and explored, (2) approaches for building index structures and the need to maintain them and (3) some example applications which greatly benefit from indices over linked data.
An Experimental Result of Conditional Shortest Path Routing In Delay Toleran...IOSR Journals
This document discusses an experimental study of conditional shortest path routing in delay tolerant networks. It proposes a new metric called conditional intermeeting time, which measures the average time between two nodes meeting given that one node has already met a third node. It then presents a conditional shortest path routing protocol that uses conditional intermeeting times rather than standard intermeeting times to determine path costs. Simulation results show this approach achieves higher delivery rates and lower delays compared to existing shortest path routing protocols for delay tolerant networks.
