Traffic accidents in Bangladesh from 2009 to 2016 resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries each year, according to statistics from the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority website. The number of accidents fluctuated between around 2,000 and 3,000 per year, and caused between 1,400 and 2,950 deaths as well as between 1,300 and 2,686 injuries annually.
