I am delighted to announce that Toxfree are the proud recipients of the GIO Workers’ Compensation Award for Excellence
in OHS&E for 2011.This the pinnacle award of the annual GIO/NSCA National Safety Awards of Excellence. Toxfree
has also been awarded the mytraining.net Best OHS Training Program category for the development of our nationally
accredited training programs for operators of High Pressure Water Jetting equipment.
Some time ago we identified that High Pressure Water Jetting operators lacked a recognised, approved training
standard, or qualification, which ensured personnel met minimum standards for competency and safety. Whilst,
for example, a forklift driver can prove competence by presenting a licence, High Pressure Water Operators did
not have an equivalent.
Toxfree conducted an extensive review and evaluation of operator training courses available within Australia, and
found that there were no nationally accredited training programs available.We also researched courses available in
Europe and America, liaised with key client organisations,WorkSafe Victoria, and Manufacturing Skills Australia, who
gave their full support to the project.This then led to an extensive consultation process with our high pressure water
team members.This review led to the development of the High Pressure Water Jetting course, designed to provide
participants with a formal qualification as High Pressure Water Jetting operators.
• MSAPMWJ201A – Use high pressure water jetting equipment (Certificate II)
• MSAPMWJ301A – Operate a high pressure water jetting system (Certificate III)
The project has taken over two and a half years to complete, and all of the training material developed by Toxfree
has now been made available for delivery to not only Toxfree personnel, but all persons engaged in High Pressure
jetting operations within Australia.
