3. • Tourism is the travel for recreational (fun),
leisure (rest), family or business purposes,
usually of a limited duration.
• Temporary, short-term movement of people to
destination outside their resident places.

4. • The World Tourism Organization defines
tourists as people “traveling to and staying in
places outside their usual environment for not
more than one consecutive year for leisure,
business and other purposes”.

5. • Domestic Tourism:
Domestic tourism is tourism involving residents
of one country traveling only within that country.
• Inbound Tourism:
Incoming tourism means travelers arriving in
different countries from their own.
• Outbound Tourism:
Outbound tourism refers to residents to travel
outside their home country. 5

statement is true in respect to the geographical area
occupied by Goa.
• With its exquisite beaches, luscious seafood, vibrating
nightlife, colonial churches and adventure sports, it is

• The state is full of white sandy beaches, backwaters,
hill stations and wildlife sanctuaries.

emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of
his wife Mumtaz, who died in childbirth.
• The city is also famous for a sweet called Petha.

10. • Jammu and Kashmir forms the crown of India and the
natural beauty is of a different world.
• The beauty of Kashmir valley is enhanced by
delicious apple orchards, snow capped mountains,
lush meadows and freshwater streams.

11. • Ajanta Caves has a total of 29 rock-cut Buddhist
caves, the Ellora Caves are a group of 34 Hindu,
Buddhist and Jain rock-cut cave temples.
• The Ajanta caves are known for their Buddhist
paintings and sculptures. Ellora caves are known for
showcasing a harmonizing blend of three different
religions.
