  2. City: Waikiki State: Hawaii Dukes Canoe Club on the island of Oa’hu, in Waikiki in the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel. Waikiki is a neighborhood of Honolulu, on the south shore of the island of O'ahu in Hawaii. The name means "spouting fresh water" in Hawaiian.

  5. City: Seattle State: Washington The Space Needle, located in Seattle, Washington, is 605 feet high, 138 feet. The Space Needle features an observation deck at 520 feet. and a gift shop with the rotating SkyCity restaurant at 500 feet. A major landmark of the Pacific Northwest region of the United States and a symbol of Seattle.

City: Los Angeles State: California The Hollywood Sign is a famous landmark in the Hollywood Hills area of Mount Lee in Los Angeles, California, spelling out the name of the area in 50 foot-high white letters. The sign originally read "HOLLYWOODLAND", and its purpose was to advertise a new housing development in the hills above the Hollywood district of Los Angeles.

Downtown Los Angeles is the central business district of Los Angeles and features many of the city's major arts institutions and sports facilities, sightseeing opportunities, a variety of skyscrapers and associated large multinational corporations and an array of public art and unique shopping opportunities.

The Golden Gate Bridge was the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed during the year 1937, and has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco and California.

This Mel’s Drive-In branch is located along Geary Boulevard in San Francisco, California. Mel's Drive-In is a restaurant chain founded in 1947 by Mel Weiss and Harold Dobbs in San Francisco, California .
  10. City: Anaheim State: California Sleeping Beauty Castle is the fairy tale structure at the center of Disneyland Park, Anaheim, California. It is based on Neuschwanstein Castle, with some French inspirations (Notre Dame de Paris and the Hospices de Beaune especially). As Sleeping Beauty Castle is a Disney icon, it has become the basis for the logo of Walt Disney Pictures and other companies related to Disney.
  11. City: Mariposa State: California Counties: Tuolumne , Mariposa , & Madera Mount Dana is a mountain on the eastern edge of Yosemite National Park in the U.S. state of California. At an elevation of 13,061 feet, it is the second highest mountain in Yosemite (after Mount Lyell). Mount Dana is named after James Dwight Dana, who was a professor of geology at Yale College.

Yosemite Valley is a world-famous scenic location in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. It is the centerpiece of Yosemite National Park, attracting visitors from all parts of the globe.
  13. City: Las Vegas State: Nevada View of the Las Vegas Strip from Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The Strip is a 6.1 kilometer stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard where many of the largest hotel, casino and resort properties in the world are located. Nineteen of the world's twenty-five largest hotels by room count are on the Strip, with a total of over 67,000 rooms.
  14. City: Stanley State: Idaho Redfish Lake in Idaho. It is named for the brilliant sockeye salmon that once returned from the Pacific Ocean in such massive quantities that the lake shimmered red during spawning season. Sadly, these fish are now on the endangered species list.
  15. City: State: Wyoming/Montana/Idaho A shot of North American Bison in Yellowstone National Park in Idaho. Established in 1872, Yellowstone National Park is America's first national park. Located in the states of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, it is home to a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, bison, and elk. Preserved within Yellowstone National Park are Old Faithful (geyser) and a collection of the world's most extraordinary geysers and hot springs, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
  16. City: State: Wyoming/Montana/Idaho A winter scene at the Lamar River. The Lamar River is a tributary of the Yellowstone River, approximately 40 miles long, in northwestern Wyoming in the United States. The river is located entirely within Yellowstone National Park.
  17. City: Salt Lake City State: Utah A portrait of a Mormon mother and her daughter at the Mormon Trail. The Mormon Trail is 1,300-mile route from Nauvoo, Illinois to Salt Lake City, Utah. Mormons were greatly persecuted in their early years and eventually found a home in the desert of Utah. In earlier days, they were associated with polygamy (having many wives), though the church now eschews this practice. They abstain from all alcohol, tobacco, coffee and tea. Mormons believe in active proselytization, and each strives to serve at least a year as a missionary.
  18. City: Moab State: Utah A picture of Skyline Arch in Arches National Park near Moab Utah. Arches National Park is known for preserving over 2000 natural sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch, in addition to a variety of unique geological resources and formations.
  19. City: State: Colorado Monument Valley is the largest “butte” small hill, largest reaching 1,000 ft (300 m) above the valley floor in the region of the Colorado . It is located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona.
  20. City: Aspen State: Colorado Hotel at 19th century silver mining town, Ashcroft Ghost Town, near Aspen known for winter scenery and resorts, Colorado. The town's last resident, Jack Leahy, died in 1939, making Ashcroft an official ghost town.
  21. City: State: Chicago , Illinois , through Missouri , Kansas , Oklahoma , Texas , New Mexico , Arizona , and California , before ending at Los Angeles , Musicians performing at the Sandhills Curiosity Shop along Route 66 in Erick, Oklahoma. Route 66 is colloquially known as the “Main Street of America”. Route 66 was removed as an official highway system in 1985 but portions of it has been designated as a National Scenic Byway by the name “Historic Route 66”. It was referenced in the animated film Cars by Disney/Pixar.
  22. City: Mandan State: North Dakota Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park located south of Mandan in North Dakota, was once an important infantry and cavalry post. Ft. Abraham Lincoln was deeded to the state in 1907 by President Theodore Roosevelt.

City: State: South Dakota Mount Rushmore National Memorial, near Keystone (Town), South Dakota, is a monumental granite sculpture by Gutzon Borglum (1867–1941), located within the United States Presidential Memorial that represents the first 150 years of the history of the United States of America with 60-foot sculptures of the heads of former United States presidents (left to right): George Washington (1732–1799), Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826), Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919), and Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865).

  25. City: Bernard State: Iowa Fishing shed, buoys and lobster traps on harbor in Bernard (city), Iowa. As of the 2000 census, the city of Bernard only has 97 residents in its total land area of 0.1 square miles.

  27. City: Chicago State: Illinois A view of the Chicago skyline from the Chicago River (Chicago, Illinois). As part of a more than forty year old Chicago tradition, on St. Patrick's Day , the Chicago River is dyed green.
  28. City: Memphis State: Tennessee Microphone and memorabilia at the Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Microphones that Elvis Presley used to sing his first hit, "That's Alright Mama”. Sun Studios was added to the list of National Historical Landmarks in July 31, 2003. It is also widely considered as the birthplace of rock & roll.

  30. City: Savannah State: Georgia A leisurely walk beneath the Live Oak trees, with Spanish Moss in the Wormsloe Historic Site. The avenue of trees is 1.5 miles long.
  31. City: New York City State: NY A view of the Statue of Liberty’s head showing the viewing platform in her crown. Liberty Island , New York City , New York , The statue is 151 ft (46 m) tall, but with the pedestal and foundation, it is 305 ft (93 m) tall.
  32. City: NY City State: NY Borough: Manhattan Alexander Hamilton Exhibit at the New-York Historical Society located in Manhattan in New York. This exhibition was held from September 10, 2004 to February 28, 2005. The first United States Secretary of the Treasury , a Founding Father , economist , and political philosopher . He led calls for the Philadelphia Convention , was one of America's first Constitutional lawyers , and cowrote the Federalist Papers , a primary source for Constitutional interpretation .From the start, Hamilton set a precedent as a Cabinet member by formulating federal programs, writing them in the form of reports, pushing for their approval by appearing in person to argue them on the floor of the United States Congress, and then implementing them. Hamilton and the other Cabinet members were vital to Washington, as there was no president before him (under the Constitution) to set precedents for him to follow in national situations such as seditions and foreign affairs.

City: New York City State: NY Grand Central Terminal, often popularly (and incorrectly) called Grand Central Station or simply Grand Central — is a terminal station at 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Although the terminal has been properly called "Grand Central Terminal" since 1913, many people continue to refer to it as "Grand Central Station". Technically, "Grand Central Station" is the name of the nearby post office, as well as the name of a previous rail station on the site, and is also used to refer to a New York City subway station at the same location.
  34. City: New York City State: NY The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in New York City, NY at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. Its name is derived from the nickname for the state of New York. It stood as the world's tallest building for more than forty years, from its completion in 1931 until construction of the World Trade Center's North Tower was completed in 1972. Following the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001, the Empire State Building once again became the tallest building in New York City and New York State.

The Brooklyn Bridge , one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States , stretches 5,989 feet (1825 m) [1] over the East River , connecting the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn (on Long Island ). Upon completion in 1883, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world , the first steel-wire suspension bridge, and the first bridge to connect to Long Island.
  36. City: New York City State: New York Harlem boys outside a Baptist Church in New York City, New York. Harlem is a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Manhattan , long known as a major African-American residential, cultural, and business center.

Dyke March is a mostly lesbian-led and inclusive gathering and protest march much like the original gay pride parades and marches. The first Dyke March was held in New York City in 1993, but has since been held in other major cities in the US.
  38. City: New York State: NY Naked Cowboy (real name Robert John Burck ) performing for tourists in Times Square in New York. Street performers like the Naked Cowboy are also known as “buskers” AKA street performers. Burck’s busking career started in 1998. Busking is the practice of performing in public places for tips and gratuities .

City: New York City State: New York The Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center is an annual tradition in New York City's Rockefeller Center, and is lighted in early December or late-November, an event broadcast in recent years on the NBC television network in the United States as well as internationally. The tree, usually a Norway spruce 75 to 90 feet tall, has been put up every year since 1931. In 2008, the tree was lighted on December 3 and remained illuminated until January 9, 2009.

The Times Square neighborhood, notably its busiest intersection, has been featured countless times in literature, on television, in films, in music videos and recently in video games.
  41. City: Boston State: Massachusetts Rowes Wharf is a modern development in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. Along the waterfront can be found a marina, restaurants, a water transportation terminal, and a floating stage offering free concerts and movies during the summer.
  42. City: State: Maine Town: York The Cape Neddick Lighthouse is a lighthouse located in York, Maine. In 1874 Congress appropriated $15,000 to build a light station at the "Nubble" and in 1879 construction began. Cape Neddick Light Station was dedicated by the US Lighthouse Service and put into use on July 1, 1879. It is still in use today.

The United States Capitol is the meeting place of the United States Congress, the legislature of the federal government of the United States.
  44. City: Washington D.C. State: N/A The Lincoln Memorial is a United States Presidential memorial built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It is located in the National Mall in Washington, D.C. and was dedicated on May 30, 1922. The architect was Henry Bacon, the sculptor of the main statue (Abraham Lincoln, 1920) was Daniel Chester French, and the painter of the interior murals was Jules Guerin. The National Mall is an open-area national park in downtown Washington, D.C. , the capital of the United States .   45. City: Washington D.C. State: N/A The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States. Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., it was built between 1792 and 1800 of white-painted Aquia sandstone in the late Georgian style and has been the executive residence of every U.S. President since John Adams.
