Gary Rixson, a marketing executive in Kansas City, Missouri, maintains an active lifestyle and recently completed a Tough Mudder obstacle race. Created by a Harvard Business School graduate, Tough Mudder events raise money for charity through 10-12 mile courses featuring obstacles like walls, ropes, mud pits, and fire that competitors face individually or on teams. The next Missouri Tough Mudder is scheduled for October 2015 and registration can be done on their website.

Away from the office, Gary Rixson maintains an
active lifestyle and recently completed a
Tough Mudder competition.
Created by Harvard Business School graduate,
Will Dean, the Tough Mudder obstacle series
concept started as an entry for the school’s
annual Business Plan Contest.

3.  Since 2010, the organization has held more
than 100 worldwide events, raising more
than $6 million for the Wounded Warrior
Project. Each course, spanning anywhere
from 10 to 12 miles, provides a new and
distinct challenge for competitors and their
teammates as they traverse walls and
tunnels, swing from ropes and monkey bars,
and hurdle mud pits and flames.
