Mike is demonstrating a new geosocial application that mixes user-generated content from the web with compass and GPS information on an embedded map view. The application will launch and show an embedded map view centered on the user's current location from GPS. Photos taken in the area will be retrieved and details about them can be viewed. The user can see the real world location of a photo on a custom map with a pin, or get directions to walk to the location, like a T-Rex skeleton 200 yards away. Android allows developers to think differently about app development, as developers build on each other's work in new combinations.
