What is DACA?
DACA	
  is	
  a	
  federal	
  program,	
  started	
  in	
  2012,	
  that	
  provides	
  
temporary	
  work	
  authoriza0on,	
  protec0on	
  from	
  
deporta0on,	
  a	
  Social	
  Security	
  Number,	
  and	
  other	
  
benefits	
  to	
  certain	
  immigrant	
  youth	
  who	
  were	
  brought	
  
to	
  the	
  U.S.	
  as	
  children.	
  	
  
	
  
DACA	
  can	
  be	
  renewed	
  every	
  two

Who Qualifies for DACA?
Only those who meet the following are eligible for DACA:
1.  Came to the U.S. before 16 years old
7.  Continuously resided in US for 5 years prior to June 15, 2012
2.  Under 31 years old on June 15, 2012
5.  Entered the U.S. without inspection before June 15, 2012, or lawful
immigration status expired as of June 15, 2012;
3.  In school, graduated from HS, obtained GED, or honorable discharge
from military
4.  Not convicted of felony, significant misdemeanor, multiple
misdemeanors
6.  Physically present in US on June 15, 2012 and at the time submit
application

Is It Safe?
•  The information in your deferred action request, including
information about family members and guardians, will not
be shared with ICE or U.S. Customs and Border Protection
(CBP) for the purpose of deportation.
•  Unless there is evidence of fraud, a criminal offense, or
a threat to public safety or national security.
§  The government does not have the resources to deport every
undocumented person in this country.
§  Remember, if you are granted DAPA or DACA, USCIS has
decided that you are a “low priority” for deportation.

ICE.

Why Apply for DAPA?

Who Qualifies for DAPA?
Only those who meet the following are eligible for DAPA:
1.  Be the parent of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
2.  Have continuously lived in the U.S. since January 1, 2010.
5.  Have not been convicted of certain criminal offenses, including any
felonies and some misdemeanors
3.  Have been present in the U.S. on November 20, 2014. It’s also likely
that you will need to be present in the U.S. every day from Nov. 20,
2014, until you apply for DAPA.
4.  Not have a lawful immigration status on November 20, 2014. To meet
this requirement, (1) you must have entered the U.S. without papers,
or, if you entered lawfully, your lawful immigration status must have
expired before November 20, 2014; and (2) you must not have a
lawful immigration status at the time you apply for DAPA.
