This document outlines the criteria for two Toastmasters awards: the Golden Gavel award and the higher level Golden Gavel + award for the 2013-2014 District 82 season. It lists requirements such as achieving two out of three TMI awards, publishing at least three newsletters, conducting a Moments of Truth session, and retaining at least 50% of membership. Additional criteria for the Golden Gavel + award include officer training, judges training, and attendance at district conferences. Clubs will only be eligible for one of the award categories by meeting the outlined criteria between July 1 and May 15.

 ACHIEVING TWO OUT OF THREE TMI AWARDS
– SMEDLEY’S AWARD (1 AUG – 30 SEP)
– TALK-UP TOASTMASTERS (1 FEB – 31 MAR)
– BEAT THE CLOCK (1 MAY – 30 JUN)
 NEWSLETTER – AT LEAST 3 IN THE YEAR – To be submitted on a
quarterly basis to the District PRO. District PRO’s report will be considered
for this criteria
 WEB OR FACEBOOK PRESENCE
 50% membership retention – The LGM’s office will provide the relevant
data club wise to LGET’s office for finalizing the winners
 Moments of Truth conducted once within the first 3 months in the
club. Scanned report to be mailed to the AG with a CC to Div.Gov.

Should have completed all criteria of Golden Gavel Award
OTP Attendance – All seven officers trained at least once –
Will be cross checked from TMI report once the club sends in their
application for the award criteria
Judges Training – At least 5 members trained as Judges, of which at
least 2 members trained as Chief Judges. The details to be sent to the
LGETs office by the respective Div. Governors based on the attendance
/certification details
Attendance in both District Conferences: At least 2
members from the club ((President + VPE) or their proxies)
Will be taken from the credential committee report

A club will be awarded in only one
category!
