Tim Cook is the current CEO of Apple Inc. He was born in 1960 in Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. and Duke University with an M.B.A. Before joining Apple in 1998, he worked at Compaq and IBM. At Apple, he rose to positions of increasing responsibility, becoming CEO in 2011 after Steve Jobs stepped down. As CEO, Cook has overseen the growth of popular products like the iPhone and iPad, increased Mac sales, improved Apple's financial performance during an economic downturn, and was included in Time's 100 Most Influential People in 2012.
