The word “time” came from the Old English word, “tima.”
The abstract sense of time, as we know it, was recorded in
the late 14th century.
The verb is attested from c. 1300.

The word ”manage” is from the 1560’s. It is probably from the Italian word, “maneggiare.”
It came from “to handle,” especially in relation to horses, and was influenced by
“manége,” the French word for Horsemanship.
Use of the word extending to other objects or business came from the 1570’s.
