Dj's Hackday
What is a DJ?
 A disc jockey, also known as DJ, is a person
who selects and plays recorded music for an
    audience.
 Originally, disk referred to phonograph records,
while disc referred to the Compact Disc,
and has become the more common spelling.
Today, the term includes all forms of music playback,
    no matter the medium
Types of disc jockeys
 Radio DJs introduce and play music that is broadcast on AM,
FM, shortwave, digital, or internet radio stations
 Club DJs select and play music in bars, nightclubs,
discothèques, at raves, or even in a stadium
 Hip hop disc jockeys select and play music using multiple
turntables, they may also do turntable scratching to create
    percussive sounds
 Mobile DJs travel with portable sound systems and play recorded
music at a variety of events
My background
 1990 – Learned to vinyl dj since 11 from my cousins (Dj May-z)
 1994 – Resident at Odyssey Discotheque for a couple of years
 1994 – Spending all wages on vinyl every month
 1998 – Left vinyl dj for mpeg3s and skipped CD mixing
 1999 – Started using Virtual Turntables (VTT)
 1999 – Napster kick started a digital music revolution
 2002 – Switched to AtomixMp3 which later became VirtualDj
 2007 – The Tonium Pacemaker is pre-released, gave up VirtualDj
