The Ticuna people live in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest near the borders of Peru and Colombia, with over 32,000 living in Brazil. They rely on fishing, hunting, and gathering fruits from the jungle for food. The Ticuna live in large communal structures called Malocas and practice traditional arts like bark cloth making, basket weaving, woodcarving, and body painting. They have also maintained their own language and cultural traditions like funeral ceremonies involving masks despite centuries of contact with outsiders.
