We've been inspired by our years of participating in the worlds of vintage, antiques, and Americana. But
our quest goes beyond a classic style. Thrux Lawrence's bags should be considered a new standard that
consumers should hold everyone against. Here's why.
Building from the Base Up
The base of each bag serves as the foundation for everything we do. Using two pieces of latigo leather,
the base is stitched onto the body and squared off. This construction allows every bag to stand upright,
whether it's full or empty. This novel design means that organizing your bag just got easier and there's
no worry regarding the bag tipping over and spilling its contents.
The base is also inordinately tough. If two men could fit inside one of our bags, the base would still hold
strong.
Unibody Structure
Simply put, more seams mean more weak points. By minimizing the amount of pieces incorporated into
the body of a bag, the likelihood of a bag failing on you is greatly reduced.
Double Layered Leather Strap
The heft of heavy-duty leather and canvas may intimidate those who aren't used to carrying added
weight on a daily basis. That's why our leather straps are double layered to add comfort and security on
every journey. Where the strap rests on the shoulder, the strap is either wider or a coordinating strap
pad has been included in order to disperse the weight. Once broken in, the strap will become even more
comfortable. At up to 18 Oz. of latigo leather, there is no chance that the strap will give way.
Each strap is adjustable to further mold to the users body.
Simple Functional Design
Ask an engineer what the best solution to a problem is, and most will agree that the best option is often
the simplest. Thrux Lawrence keeps designs clean and simple for the timeless aesthetic, but also
because it allows for efficient everyday function.
Each bag's exterior includes our trademark zippered pocket, which has integrated leather pull tabs on
either side of the zipper for easy open and closure. On the interior, bags are equipped with various size
pockets that allow for enough organization of personal items, without making things more complicated.
As everyday carries continue to evolve, pockets that were designed adhere closely to contemporary
goods five years ago have already been phased out. We keep things at a happy medium to ensure effect
general purpose use.
ID Tag and Vintage Photo
Thrux Lawrence bags have a simple yet functional ID slot stitched into the side, removing the need to
buy one for necessary travel. It also comes with a vintage photo, our little tribute to the era that inspires
Thrux Lawrence and reminds us the value of traditional design and not cutting corners.
Single Needle Stitching
The majority of every bag and leather good made in our shop is single-needle stitched with a machine
originally built for saddles. This traditional method of sewing requires added skill and time that major
brands are rarely willing to endure. But the resulting style and character found in a single-needle
stitched good provides a provenance and artisanal quality unseen in anything but the finest handcrafted
sundries.
Hand Hammered Rivets
The use of rivets can be traced all the way back to the days of Ancient Egypt. Much of the time, they are
used in metal work and steel structures as a method of mechanically fastening two joints or objects
together.
Our custom rivets our used most similarly to the ones you see on your favorite pair of denim. They
reinforce stress points on our bags while adding to the hand crafted beauty of each of our bags. The

number of rivets on an item vary from the pair on our Thrux Purse, to the 28 on the Thrux Pack. We use
a leather washer at points where the rivet would normally come into contact with the canvas. After each
rivet has been hammered down, we carefully smooth the cut point to ensure no sharp edges.
Better Leather, Better Canvas
The best chefs in the world will tell you that the best food comes from the best ingredients. The exact
same thing holds true for apparel as well, whether it's your luggage, the shoes on your feet, or the shirt
on your back.
Thrux Lawrence bags are made with the heaviest premium materials you can imagine carrying around.
Our leather is twice as thick, at 8-9 Oz. latigo; normally used in utility where durability is just as, if not
more, important as style. Our custom canvas, at 24 Oz., is of a quality and weight rarely seen outside of
heavy industry.
We are confident that our materials will outlast anyone else's.
Our Promise
It's no secret that there are plenty of companies that manufacture an all leather or leather and canvas
bag. Some are cheaper and some are more expensive. But none will match the return on investment
that a Thrux Lawrence good can provide. Other companies use lighter canvas and then decorate their
bags with a leather handle or base. If you're lucky, they use a full grain leather. The reality is that they're
cutting costs on materials while raising their margins at the customer's expense.
Not only are we spending more on our materials, we're crafting our bags by hand, using custom tools
and single-needle sewing machines with needles the size of nails.
We put more of ourselves into each bag made It takes effort to earn a living in today's world. That's why

White's Boots
Otto White may have started his boot business in the mountains of West Virginia, but the
brand flourished after moving to the Northwest. Since 1915, the brand's been commonplace
with all the area's hard working industries. When buying a pair of White's, people know that
they've invested in quality.
Spokane, Washington, shares a long history of logging and mining with its sister city, Coeur
d'Alene, Idaho. When Thrux Lawrence was looking for a collaborator for our boot line, there
was no question we were going to call our close neighbor. The combination of style, function
and durability of White's light utility shoes is a standard that all American bootmakers hope to
match, and furthermore parallels the standards of Thrux Lawrence. We feel privileged to now
be included in this great company's history.
For our collaboration, we have worked with White's to create a boot that both looks great and
plays hard. Every boot is Goodyear welted with either a commando or crepe sole. Five eyelets
and three speed hooks ensure a secure fit. Chromexcel and bullhide leathers are featured on

Iron Heart
Iron Heart UK's Giles Padmore calls Thrux Lawrence, "the Iron Heart of the luggage world."
We'll proudly take that to the bank.
Before Thrux Lawrence made bags, we had aspirations to make killer jeans. Unfortunately,
Iron Heart already reigns as the over-engineered king.
Japan's Iron Heart, part of The Works Inc., is the beloved child of Shinichi Haraki. After
working decades as a pattern maker, designer and producer/director for Edwin - one of the
original Japanese denim companies - Haraki-san wanted to make denim for his motorcycle
brethren.
There has never been any compromising at Iron Heart. There's rarely a nod to form over
function. They seek to make jeans that will comfortably last beyond any other offering, and
this unabashed passion has placed them at the pinnacle of raw denim.
Thrux Lawrence met the Iron Heart team in Yokahoma, early 2015. It didn't take long for them
to notice that we were kindred spirits. Over the next several months, Thrux Lawrence was
tasked with taking the Heritage Line Thrux Pack, Duffle, and Dopp bag and giving them each
an Iron Heart spin. The collection debuted in early 2016 and everyone's real pleased with the
results.

Our Leather: Unless you're dealing with untreated rawhide, the majority of quality leathers you'll
come across are either chrome-tanned, using chromium salts, or vegetable tanned, where the leather is
instilled with oils and fats from plants and trees like Oak. Latigo leather uses both processes, being
chrome-tanned and then tumbled in oils and fats.
The result is a beautiful, drier leather that has a light luster, medium stiffness and incredible versatility.
You can find latigo used for shoes and furniture. For saddles and razor sharpening. If it's a product that
needs to take a beating, chances are that latigo has been used at one time or another.
At 8-9 Oz., our latigo leather is as thick as you'll ever see on a bag. It starts pristine and, like dry denim,
will soften and mold over time and use. But unlike a trusty pair of raw denim, you'll be hard pressed to
ever wear this leather out. Instead, with proper care, chances are it will last longer on this earth than
you.
In addition to the latigo leather, we will use bridle leather on items such as belts and accessories. Bridle
leather is made by stuffing both the flesh and grain sides of the leather with greases and then treating it
with wax. While laborious, the process leaves the leather looking great with depth of color. It is flexible
and smooth, strong and durable. Its history is traced by to being used with horses, where the failure of a
leather strap could lead to tragedy. Considering how much effort it takes to properly make bridle
leather, the cowhides used are always high grade, because it is otherwise not worth the effort.
Both latigo and bridle leather are great examples of how leather can improve with age.
Care: Latigo and Bridle leather hold up to the blood, sweat and tears of life as well as any leather you'll
find. Clean any mild dirt and grime with a damp cloth. Every six months, we recommend Otter Wax's
Leather Oil treatment to keep leather supple and conditioned.
We get our leather from top of the line tanneries in Illinois and Wisconsin.
Our Canvas: Duck Canvas has a long history in workwear and utility, originally being well-favored by
sailors in both garment use and the sails themselves. Woven with two strands of cotton warp yarn and
one cotton weft yarn, duck canvas rarely snags or tears, is breathable yet wind resistant, and mildly
flame resistant. It is also water resistant. When duck canvas gets wet, the outer fibers absorb the water
and expand, forming an near-impermeable layer that will protect the interior from excess moisture.
Don't go putting your bag in a river, but you'll never worry about the rain.
To Wax or not to Wax? Waxing canvas has a very long history of practical use in workwear and other
utilities featuring canvas, due to the added water repelling that it provides. On top of that, the patina
that waxed canvas eventually develops from use can be truly stunning. With that said, here at Thrux
Lawrence, we chose not to apply wax to our goods that use canvas. Waxed canvas collects dirt, grime
and dust to a much higher degree that its standard counterpart. Eventually, you'll have to reapply the
wax. The wax also adds substantial weight. Once you handle one of our Heritage bags, you'll understand
that wax would make the bags weight untenable unless we switched to a lighter canvas. That would
decrease the bags durability, something which we will compromise.
Care: The occasional dirt and grime will easily brush off, but for heavier cleaning, we like Otter Wax's
Castile Soap. Shake the bottle and then apply the soap to the dirty area with a brush or soft cloth. Wipe
it clean with a lint-free cloth and let it fully dry. Apply more as desired.
Our canvas is custom dyed and manufactured in New Jersey.
Thread: In the old days, thread was made from cotton, animal tendons and other natural fibers that
each had their own merits. Some brands refuse to stray from this traditional heritage, and we respect
that. But around these parts, we've embraced modern industry's creation of bonded nylon. Unlike loose,
soft synthetic threads, bonded nylon is taken one step further by encapsulating the thread in a special
coating. The result of this impressive engineering is it has a smoother, more uniform surface, great
tensile strength, rot proofing and abrasion resistance.

Care: No care is necessary for the thread used in our products, however extreme sun exposure is
inadvisable.
Our thread comes from California.
Hardware: After hours of field testing, we've acquired a myriad of stainless steel and brass hardware
to match the heavy duty needs of our products. Brass, an alloy made from varying combinations of
copper and zinc and other elements, has been beloved by manufacturers and artisans for millennia. Not
only does it look beautiful, it's durable, versatile, corrosion-resistant, germicidal, and anti-microbial. As it
ages, brass can form a beautiful patina. Our brass is nickel-plated and/or cold-rolled. It's used for our
custom hand-hammered rivets, our belts, and all other hardware on our bags. Our YKK zippers are
manufactured from brass as well.
Stainless steel, made stainless by adding chromium to the alloy, is similarly durable to brass. It is
corrosion-resistant to acid, oxidation, bases and other organics. Due to its silver color, it is a perfect
choice as an alternative to the gold of brass.
Care: A wet cloth is all that is necessary for removing any dirt or grime on both metals. For brass, we
prefer to let it patina rather than clean it. But if you feel it necessary, a solution of lemon juice and
baking soda or professional brass cleaning product will help turn the clock back. For stainless steel, mild
detergent and water or a professional stainless steel cleaning product will work.
Our hardware comes from Ohio and Georgia*.
Spectra Cord: This high molecular weight synthetic rope is a great example of what modern
materials are capable of. The spectra cord is both cut resistant and extremely strong, matching steel
cables ten times larger. We use spectra cord for our camera and wallet tethers.
Care: No care is needed.

Who We Are
In the late 1700's and early 1800's, French Fur traders came traded with local Native Americans in the future
panhandle of northern Idaho. These tough, wild Frenchmen named the people Coeur d'Alène, or "heart of an
awl". The affectation reflected the indigenous people's shrewd business skills, toughness, and sharp minds. As the
years, passed, the people changed, but the mindset didn't. North Idaho became the land of miners, loggers,
adventurers, and cowboys. When the miners felt mistreated, they didn't just voice complaints. They went towar. Look
it up if you don't believe us.
Today, the ethics and principles of yesteryear still matter. Around here, you can still find a weathered gentleman
who genuinely knows the meaning of true grit. We ride our motorcycles through the mountains and camp out in
the wilds, but the bottom line hasn't changed: a hard day's work, creating something by hand, still matters. For
Thrux Lawrence, nothing will ever beat or be more satisfying than creating a hand-crafted good, made in the
USA.
Most businesses doing high-end goods call a coastal or major city home. The fact that it's made in our home,
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, is that much more personal. Idaho has shaped us into who we are, and that permeates into
the looks and style of our goods.
This is the foundation of the standards and design of every Thrux Lawrence product. Each item has been over-
engineered to not just function as an everyday carry, but to survive the absolute worst that life might throw at it.
Leather and canvas has never been quite this indestructible. As soon as you pick up one of our bags, you'll know:
we aren't messing around. Every aspect of our products has been scrutinized through extreme stress and field
tests, to ensure they will not fail. More broken, unworthy hardware has passed through here than a recycling
plant.
Thrux Lawrence is for the man or woman who likes his or her jeans raw, tools to be cast iron, and boots with
more miles than the marshmallow man's tires. Our goods will live with you through thick and thin, so that twenty
years from now, fifty years from now, your life's story is etched into our beautiful Latigo leather and canvas.

We have a mission at Thrux Lawrence that's simple and straightforward: Certifiably USA built goods, by
Americans, to the highest quality.
More than that, we want people to know that we aren't cutting costs anywhere in regards to the materials and
construction of every good we make. That's why we are as transparent as possible about what goes into each
product and where those materials are sourced from. For the record, we have never made a single phone call to
non-American manufacturers and suppliers. We never will. Count on that.
American built is not just a gimmick for us. We want to know where everything we buy comes from, so we can go
out the door with the pride of supporting our friends, family, neighbors, and countrymen. Holding our own goods
to any other ethos would be the apex of hypocrisy.
Each batch of Thrux Lawrence products is limited to less than 100 pieces, ensuring that every bag, belt, and
accessory is the embodiment of artisan.
When you visit our flagship store in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, take a moment to watch our skilled craftsman build
our goods. Our retail space is also our factory floor.
Tanden Launder, Founder
At the time a child can be officially termed a teenager, Thrux Lawrence's founder Tanden Launder was being
immersed in the world of vintage and Americana. He filtered through the muck of old barns and broken down
garages in search of the quintessential collectible. His first and favorite purchase was Lawrence, a shoulder
mounted African wildebeest. By the time most of us are simply eager to drink legally, Launder had lived in
Ethiopia, travelled Europe, and bought and sold rare goods with the best of them.
Launder is now armed with a grizzled business acumen and surrounded by the hardiest and most timeless bags,
belts, and boots. He started Thrux Lawrence with the fundamental concept of making goods that not only
reminded people of America's great style, but goods that are "better, last longer, and function smoothly."
His desire to consciously grow Thrux Lawrence slowly and deliberately ensure that the brand will have years of
mutual loyalty with our suppliers, fellow artisans, and most importantly, our customers .

The Bulwark Belt is more than just your everyday leather strap. It is
a feat of clean, efficient, modern engineering. CNC machining
(Computer Numerical Control), is the most effective way to mill
metal into a design. Once the design is entered into the computer,
the machine's lasers or lathes execute with precision beyond
human capability. These machines are remarkably consistent,
meaning a perfect buckle every time.
By using quarter-inch cold rolled brass - which is two to three times
stronger than cast brass - and stainless steel, the buckle will not
warp or break with use.
When worn, the belt has a minimalist look that stands out and
