This document presents a novel motion monitoring system using inertial measurement units to track activities of daily living. It describes the system's quaternion algorithm and SensorTag device for collecting acceleration, gyroscope, and magnetometer data in real-time. Experimental results show the system can accurately track linear displacement but struggles with reconstructing eating gestures. Future work will focus on improving angular and displacement computations for wider smartphone applications.
This talk is about the common issues encountered when using timers (formerly NSTimer) that update UI elements, and how to solve them.

Comprehensive Review on Base Energy Efficient Routing ProtocolIJRES Journal
With the faster growing in electronics industry, small inexpensive battery powered wireless sensors have made an impact on the communications with the physical world. The Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) consists of hundreds of sensor nodes which are resource constrained. WSN nodes monitor various physical and environmental conditions very cooperatively. WSN uses various nodes for the communication. WSN has become one of the interested areas in the field of research from last few years. To enhance the lifetime of the whole networks energy reduction is the necessary consideration for design and analyse of the clustering and routing protocols. This paper describes the study of various energy efficient routing protocols in WSNs which are important for their designing purpose so as to meet the various resource constraints.
Unit Power Factor Servo Drive Control SystemIJRES Journal
In order to solve the problem that the load of the servo drive system can easily lead to the decrease
of the power grid’s power factor and generate the harmonic pollution, in this paper, single-phase PWM rectifier
is applied to servo drive control system. In the design of single-phase PWM rectifier, the double closed-loop
control strategy of current voltage and the virtual phase lock technology are applied to make the power grid
side current sinusoidal and track the phase of the power grid side voltage to achieve unity power factor control.
In the servo motor control, the maximum current torque ratio control strategy is used. PWM rectifier as the
servo drive control system front, for its energy. And build a simulation model in MATLAB, through the
simulation analysis, it is verified that this method can realize the control of the grid side unity power factor, and
the servo drive system is robust.

Model Analysis of Cymbal Generator Under Different Working ConditionsIJRES Journal
In order to study the influence for natural frequency under different constraint conditions of Cymbal transducer. Through the use of ANSYS and SIMULATION with finite element method, the Cymbal transducer can be applied on different constraints and load conditions, calculation and analysis to obtain the modal under the specific natural frequencies and mode shapes. Which in the free and non free conditions yield stress limits are in the security domain, the modal analysis results of vibration mode and natural frequency shows that suitable for large load under low frequency vibration of train vibration load, the load in order to study, under low frequency vibration Cymbal transducer can provide simulation support for energy recovery applications.

A major goal of this study is to address the use and functionality of the impaired arm through specific assessment, health application and wearable. So far Rehabilitation Gaming System Wearable (RGS-wear) has focused on the amount of movement. In this thesis, the aim is to enhance the current state and establish a novel measurement providing qualitative assessment of movement. Once understanding the rationale for motor learning, impairments and motor control I further developed, and validated features for the rehabilitation applied technology RGS-wear. The execution of this project was divided into three main stages. The first step included kinesthetic data acquisition and assessment, through the use of wearable sensors. Secondly, I performed motion evaluation, analyzed and compared non-dominant and dominant hand movement, in natural and constrained settings, studied patterns and extracted measures of motor function. Thirdly, I studied the functionalities of the wearable and evaluated the acceptability of the wearable as an evaluation tool. The goal of this project was to design and implement appropriate system features and strategies that can augment current rehabilitation protocols. The outcome I believe carries the potential to lead to new guidelines and recommendations for the development of wearable technologies for clinical practices especially in context of motor function.

What are ADLs and what’s the purpose of applying a motion monitoring system to healthcare?
Very hard for the elderly, disabled, and chronic disease patients.
A real-time ADLs motion monitoring system can help.
Markerless and marker-based mo-cap system are used for animation and filming. They are set up in camera studios and very expensive, although they are accurate. On the other hand, IMU-based system is cheaper and wearable.
Markerless and marker-based mo-cap usually have nine or more cameras. Depth sensing like Microsoft Kinect only has three cameras at most.
Electromyography (EMG) measures the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles.
Quaternion is used to represent the orientation including three types of deflection angles roll (X), pitch (Y) and yaw (Z).

The direction angles is computed in quaternion, and then use the accelerometer data for acceleration, velocity and displacement calculation.
Small to be wearable.
Only use three sensors. CC2541 is an ultra low power system on chip (SoC) Bluetooth low energy (BLE) solution.
The sampling rate ranges of accelerometer and gyroscope are very wide, but gyroscope consumes very much power with 200Hz or higher, and the magnetometer can only achieve 80Hz at most, thus I only tests up to 100Hz to collect enough data and gain more power savings.
Operating System Abstraction Layer (OSAL) is used in Bluetooth low energy (BLE) protocol. It schedules events in BLE application, and the eleventh one is SensorTag event to perform read and write.
Classic Bluetooth can’t communicate with BLE or Bluetooth smart. Bluetooth smart ready devices can pair with two previous kinds of devices.
Up to seven slave devices can be connected to one central device.
10 seconds to scan for devices and reading starts in 5 seconds after connection.
Data and timestamp save in txt files.
Test the system with displacement measuring error rates, and try to rebuild the two ADLs.

Walk 13ft, which is 3.9624m. The ceramic tile is a 1ft-side-length square.
Wrists moved shorter for relative displacement.
For stable long-term angular calculation, it might help to use a better gyroscope and the algorithm needs more improvements.
Develop a better orientation algorithm based on quaternion.
Increase the three sensors’ sampling rates.
Apply CC2650 with better accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer or to build a customized circuit.
Develop a smartphone application to connect six SensorTags.
