This document is the thesis of Daniel Josephson titled "Tigers in the Sun: South Korean and Taiwanese people's opinions toward Japan". It examines differences in public opinion between South Koreans and Taiwanese regarding Japan through surveys and interviews. The thesis analyzes how historical factors like Japanese colonial rule and authoritarian regimes in both countries differently impacted their views of Japan. It also discusses contemporary political issues like territorial disputes that influence current geopolitical opinions. The thesis uses both qualitative and quantitative data to understand the split in public opinion between the two countries.
