The form created by the field,
transformed to becoming a shell
for a performing arts / dance cen-
tre in Lagos, Nigeria.
The shell came about by manipu-
lating a basic formviatwists, turns
and bends in different directions
and angles.
The site was selected because of
the cultural dances that take place
in different tribes of Nigeria. The
various cultural dancers have dif-
ferent styles and costumes, each
based off a primary movement.
The shell embodies the twists,
turns, lines, angles and forms cre-
ated by the human body during
dance routines.

and Lagos is the center of com-

hold the Iconic buildings of the
City, making it the Image of the
Lagos city skyline.
The performing arts center is located on Ozumba-Mbadiwe road in
Victoria Island, Lagos. Ozumba-Mbadiwe is one of the major roads
in Victoria Island. It sits on the south of the Five Cowry creek and
is home to Iconic buildings in Lagos such as The Civic Center, Civic
