The actor L (on the left) played the character Z in the first two movies of a certain movie series
A, eponymous with the book series it was adapted from. However, he passed away due to
pneumonia on 25/10/2002 in London. L was a lifelong friend of Peter O'Toole, and L's family
wanted O'Toole to replace L as Z for the remaining movies. However, there were concerns about
insuring O'Toole for the remaining movies, thus the actor R (on the right) was picked ahead of
him to play Z.

news website Reddit by his friend Ian Davies on January 24, 2012 at 2:15 UTC. It quickly became
a popular Image macro on social media networks like Facebook and Twitter, and was turned into
t-shirts, stuffed animals and novelty items sold by Walmart and Hot Topic. Volkswagen and other

officially removed from the United States Highway System.
Part of a later Academy Award nominated film’s storyline revolves around how the vibrant

Parts of the road were disposed off, and it is no longer possible to drive uninterrupted all the

X A. Segale , born in 1935, is an American businessman and real estate developer. He has been
involved in various development projects in the Seattle area since the 1950s.
In 1981, a major company was renting one of Segale’s properties to establish their American
headquarters. The company, while preparing for the release of something that would go on to
establish their name in our childhood, had issues with paying rent – this angered the landlord,
Segale.
The company ultimately convinced Segale that it will pay the rent – and legend goes that whether
the rent was paid or not, Segale was immortalised in the venture released itself as a tribute, by
changing the name of the protagonist in this release, to X, after Segale.
While not fully confirmed, it is believed that correspondingly Y made his way into our childhood

headquarters. X and Y are consistently heard of together.

The initial samples of _______ were made in 1932 with iron carbonyl mixed into
the cellulose acetate carrier. By 1960, the acetate carrier was replaced with long lengths of polyester
base since acetate was prone to chemical instability.
A sticky-shed syndrome occurred with these _____ in the 1970s due to both having slightly different
formulations for the same product by introducing a polyurethane binder that, in time,
turned hygroscopic and broke down as it absorbed water molecules into the long hydrocarbon
molecular chains.
Today while the syndrome is mostly taken care of, it became important to keep the _____ clean to
prevent deterioration of quality – dust or any changes to the chemical composition can severely
destroy the purpose of its use. Very low power vacuum cleaners should be used to remove the dust
or else loss of properties of ______ can occur which in turn will destroy its purpose.

______ _____ is an annual gathering that takes place at Black Rock City—a temporary
community erected in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. First held in 1986, the event is described
as an experiment in community and art, influenced by 10 main principles, including "radical"
inclusion, self-reliance and self-expression, as well as community cooperation, civic
responsibility, gifting, participation and immediacy.
The community explores various forms of artistic self-expression, created in celebration for the
pleasure of all participants. Participation is a key precept for the community – selfless giving of
one's unique talents for the enjoyment of all is encouraged and actively reinforced.
The festival gets its name thanks to an effigy that is burnt on the Saturday evening.
While we might not have been to the gathering, trivia fans would have heard of it thanks a
famous person visiting that festival – in the process creating what concept in the internet world
in 1998, now observed or seen by us on most of the days of the year?

One possible explanation for a certain phenomenon/observation seen/made by most of us goes
as –
Because the company in question had the complete roster for the usage of international players
in their 2005 version – however it was not received for their subsequent 2007 version, as
Codemasters had bought the license of the entire roster for international players and also the
one for all official ICC tournaments for Brian Lara’s International Cricket, 2007. Our company
managed to get licenses for the same only from Australia, England, NZ and SA and thus….”

The National Policy on Education Committee of the Members of Parliament, one that went on to
establish free education under the Ten Year System, was constituted by the Indian Government
in 1967 to consider recommendations of the Kothari Commission – one of them being : “Work
experience should be an integral part of education at the school stage. Work with hands will help
the young to develop insights into productive processes and use of science and inculcate them
respect for manual labour and habits of hard and responsible work.”
This idea, taken forward by the Kothari Commission was finally paid heed to by the Ishwarbhai
Patel Committee in July 1977 and after its recommendations a four word term was coined, which
then made its way into the current school curriculum.
Which four word term, that we’ve all heard of , is this?

Urban Dictionary defines this activity as “an entertaining activity that can be done anywhere from a
fifteen minute public speaker, to a two hour lecture. It is not harmful to your health in anyway.”
And a girl by the name of Ashely Cardiff in April 2013 had a shot at this activity as she felt it could
remove her blackheads. She describes her experience as follows –
So, yes, obviously I took great satisfaction in _______________(the activity). But did it actually
remove any blackheads?
Of fucking course not.
It’s _______. I can’t, for the life of me, imagine how mankind could engineer a product that actually
pulls grit out of human pores without it being extremely damaging to, you know, the other parts.
Though ________ wore an extremely accurate impression of my epidermis–it didn’t actually take

Says Australian designer James Colmer on conceptualising the idea of _______ around 12-13 years
back –
Throughout history, in every culture there are ancient traces of civilisations and knowledge which
suggests a much more advanced and intelligent race of beings once lived here. In creating a history for
_____, I felt it was important to include these esoterical and mystical influences.
This was an ideal opportunity to introduce the symbolism of the tree of life. When a practitioner uses
the so called “Kundalini” energy, they are creating in their mind an image of the Kabbala around them,
imagining the energy flow in a lightning flash which draws upon the “fire” and sends it up the middle
pillar, through the gates of wisdom, past the reptilian brain, to charge the pineal gland, or third eye of
the mystics.
The design on ______’s back represents the energy lines or “chi” moving toward the key chakra points.
The design also represents an awareness of the inner self.
The bracelet that ______ wears serves a particular purpose as well as being symbolic. The light it gives
off acts as a homing beacon for ______ and also for location purposes.
What did Colmer conceptualise or create with this in mind, something seen by most of us in this
hall?

In September 2016, X , in an interview to a few magazines and newspapers finally
agreed that their iconic 1999 song Y has lyrics which actually make no sense.
The lines in the verses and the chorus of Y repeatedly contradict themselves. It’s
entirely unclear if the song is supposed to be a love song, a breakup song or
possibly even about an alien emotion humans don’t even have the capacity to
comprehend.
What was earlier known however that the Swedish songwriter behind the hit, Max Martin,
couldn’t speak amazing English at the time and therefore didn’t realize the song was so
enigmatic. (A problem he occurred even with Britney’s Baby One More Time as he
misunderstood the word “call” for “hit”).
Name the song Y, which came back in news in 2010 thanks to an aeroplane belonging to X being
auctioned and sold to a Bruno Komp.

The credit for an iconic 1996 moment probably goes to former NBC executive Dick Ebersol, who narrated the
story behind the moment to a sports magazine in 2015.
Ebersol, who passionately believed that _______ was indeed the right choice, recalled his conversation with
Payne about the matter –
It should be _______. _____ may be, outside of perhaps the pope, the most beloved figure in the world,” Ebersol
remembered telling Payne. “In the third world, he’s a hero. He’s a hero and a fellow traveler. To anybody young—
just about—in the United States, he’s a man of great moral principle who was willing to go to prison.”
The committee hesitated because, as Payne said, “Where we’re from, he’s perceived as a draft dodger.”
“He was found guilty, and he was on his way to prison, but the federal court of appeals in the state of New York
threw it out and the Supreme Court refused to intervene three years later. He lost three big-money-earning years.
But he didn’t run away from the country. He didn’t go to Canada. He was willing to stand on his principles.”
Payne finally agreed to have ______ completing the moment.
Who (fill in the blank), and what moment (or event) was Ebersol talking about?

When X died in 2001, there were protest marches in Mumbai where people were grieving over
the loss of X.
Amar Upadhyay, in his words, received phone calls throughout the night till 2 am in the morning
expressing shock over the death of X. There were many who called and abused Ashish Patil,
Nivedita Basu, and a few others for having killed X.
I always wanted something to happen when X died. I was waiting for phone calls and when the
first bell rang I knew I had done it... But I always thought people would feel sad and sleep over it
and forget about it the next day. But what happened came as a complete surprise.. Probably X
touched a chord somewhere because he is one person that everybody wants around him,
someone responsible, ready to take decisions and caring….
Whose death were these people in Mumbai mourning, expecting that he will never come back

The Jameson Raid , one performed in 1895 was a failed raid against the South African
Republic(commonly known as the Transvaal) carried out by British colonial statesman Leander Starr
Jameson and his Company troops.
In remembrance of this loss of this otherwise successful man Jameson, X was inspired to pen one of
his most notable works, Y in late 1895. While many feel that Y aims to serve an inspirational
message, it is actually found to be a bitter condemnation of the British Government led by Lord
Salisbury, and the duplicity of its Colonial Secretary Joseph Chamberlain, for covertly supporting Dr
Jameson's raid against the Boers in South Africa's Transvaal in 1896, only to condemn him when the
raid failed.
And as expected, just like the spirit that Y embodies, He decided to return to South Africa after his
release and rose to become Prime Minister of the Cape Colony in 1904, leaving office before the
creation of the Union of South Africa in 1910 – and during all this time Jameson remained the silent
and dignified man he always was known to be.
X and Y? Y is a very well known work.

7 The Second Lawof Thermodynamics deals with entropy, which in simple terms is a measure of disorder. This law is explained using X. After X fell and shattered, it would be highly unlikely (not impossible) to put X back together, in a state of lower disorder, which is why 160 men couldn't take X back to the original state. 3 ______ _____ isan annual gathering that takes place at Black Rock City—a temporary community erected in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. First held in 1986, the event is described as an experiment in community and art, influenced by 10 main principles, including "radical" inclusion, self-reliance and self-expression, as well as community cooperation, civic responsibility, gifting, participation and immediacy. The community explores various forms of artistic self-expression, created in celebration for the pleasure of all participants. Participation is a key precept for the community – selfless giving of one's unique talents for the enjoyment of all is encouraged and actively reinforced. The festival gets its name thanks to an effigy that is burnt on the Saturday evening. 6 The National Policyon Education Committee of the Members of Parliament, one that went on to establish free education under the Ten Year System, was constituted by the Indian Government in 1967 to consider recommendations of the Kothari Commission – one of them being : “Work experience should be an integral part of education at the school stage. Work with hands will help the young to develop insights into productive processes and use of science and inculcate them respect for manual labour and habits of hard and responsible work.” This idea, taken forward by the Kothari Commission was finally paid heed to by the Ishwarbhai Patel Committee in July 1977 and after its recommendations a four word term was coined, which then made its way into the current school curriculum. 8 Says Australian designerJames Colmer on conceptualising the idea of _______ around 12-13 years back – Throughout history, in every culture there are ancient traces of civilisations and knowledge which suggests a much more advanced and intelligent race of beings once lived here. In creating a history for _____, I felt it was important to include these esoterical and mystical influences. This was an ideal opportunity to introduce the symbolism of the tree of life. When a practitioner uses the so called “Kundalini” energy, they are creating in their mind an image of the Kabbala around them, imagining the energy flow in a lightning flash which draws upon the “fire” and sends it up the middle pillar, through the gates of wisdom, past the reptilian brain, to charge the pineal gland, or third eye of the mystics. The design on ______’s back represents the energy lines or “chi” moving toward the key chakra points. The design also represents an awareness of the inner self. The bracelet that ______ wears serves a particular purpose as well as being symbolic. The light it gives off acts as a homing beacon for ______ and also for location purposes. 9 In September 2016,X , in an interview to a few magazines and newspapers finally agreed that their iconic 1999 song Y has lyrics which actually make no sense. The lines in the verses and the chorus of Y repeatedly contradict themselves. It’s entirely unclear if the song is supposed to be a love song, a breakup song or possibly even about an alien emotion humans don’t even have the capacity to comprehend. What was earlier known however that the Swedish songwriter behind the hit, Max Martin, couldn’t speak amazing English at the time and therefore didn’t realize the song was so enigmatic. (A problem he occurred even with Britney’s Baby One More Time as he misunderstood the word “call” for “hit”). Name the song Y, which came back in news in 2010 thanks to an aeroplane belonging to X being auctioned and sold to a Bruno Komp. To anybody young— just about—in the United States, he’s a man of great moral principle who was willing to go to prison.” The committee hesitated because, as Payne said, “Where we’re from, he’s perceived as a draft dodger.” “He was found guilty, and he was on his way to prison, but the federal court of appeals in the state of New York threw it out and the Supreme Court refused to intervene three years later. He lost three big-money-earning years. But he didn’t run away from the country. He didn’t go to Canada. He was willing to stand on his principles.” Payne finally agreed to have ______ completing the moment. Who (fill in the blank), and what moment (or event) was Ebersol talking about? 11 When X diedin 2001, there were protest marches in Mumbai where people were grieving over the loss of X. Amar Upadhyay, in his words, received phone calls throughout the night till 2 am in the morning expressing shock over the death of X. There were many who called and abused Ashish Patil, Nivedita Basu, and a few others for having killed X. I always wanted something to happen when X died. I was waiting for phone calls and when the first bell rang I knew I had done it... But I always thought people would feel sad and sleep over it and forget about it the next day. But what happened came as a complete surprise.. Probably X touched a chord somewhere because he is one person that everybody wants around him, someone responsible, ready to take decisions and caring…. Whose death were these people in Mumbai mourning, expecting that he will never come back again? Waves – The Tides of Time Quiz Lucky Kaul and Roshan Dattatri November 5, 2016

12 The Jameson Raid, one performed in 1895 was a failed raid against the South African Republic(commonly known as the Transvaal) carried out by British colonial statesman Leander Starr Jameson and his Company troops. In remembrance of this loss of this otherwise successful man Jameson, X was inspired to pen one of his most notable works, Y in late 1895. While many feel that Y aims to serve an inspirational message, it is actually found to be a bitter condemnation of the British Government led by Lord Salisbury, and the duplicity of its Colonial Secretary Joseph Chamberlain, for covertly supporting Dr Jameson's raid against the Boers in South Africa's Transvaal in 1896, only to condemn him when the raid failed. And as expected, just like the spirit that Y embodies, He decided to return to South Africa after his release and rose to become Prime Minister of the Cape Colony in 1904, leaving office before the creation of the Union of South Africa in 1910 – and during all this time Jameson remained the silent and dignified man he always was known to be. X and Y? Y is a very well known work. Waves – The Tides of Time Quiz Lucky Kaul and Roshan Dattatri November 5, 2016
