The Roman theatre of Mérida, Spain was built between the 16th-15th centuries BC. It was constructed by the consul Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa and could seat 6,000 spectators. The theatre had a semicircular grandstand and a marble orchestra between the stage and seating area. The stage was 7.5 meters wide, 63 meters long, and 17.5 meters tall with marble columns and sculptures. The theatre was an important structure for entertainment in ancient Rome.
