The Prophet Muhammad treated children with great kindness, patience and respect. He used simple words and methods to teach them important lessons. Muhammad played with children, carried them, and was not bothered when they cried or had accidents. He shortened prayers if a baby was crying so the mother could comfort the child. Muhammad respected children's feelings and rights, advising against lying to them. He taught both boys and girls important values. The Prophet also ensured children's social and familial rights were protected.
