A wealthy man sent his son to stay at a farm to experience how poor people live. When the son returned, the father asked him what he learned. The son said that while they have one dog and a pool, the farm family had four dogs and a creek with no end. They had stars at night while the son's family had imported lanterns. The son realized how much land and freedom the farm family had compared to the walls and small property of his own home. He thanked his father for showing him how poor his own family was by comparison.

17. The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are."

19. Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.
