About the planet
Neptune is dark, cold and very windy. It is the last of the planets in our solar
system. It is more than 30 times farther from the Sun than Earth. Neptune is very
similar to Uranus. It is composed of a thick mixture of water, ammonia and
methane.

• A day lasts 16 hours.
• Its journey around the Sun is so long that it takes 165 Earth years to complete
it... It has a very long year!
Fun facts
Neptune is the eighth and most distant planet in our solar system. More than 30
times farther from the Sun than Earth. It is the smallest of the gas giants,Neptune
is smaller than all the other gas giants in the solar system: Jupiter, Saturn and
Uranus. One of its moons is ultracold
If it is already cold on Neptune, one of its satellites, Triton, holds the record for
being one of the coldest objects in the solar system.
