3. Tonight we will be addressing a
sensitive topic!
We will do our best to not be offensive!
▪ I would like to encourage each of you to read a copy of
Dave Miller’s book Sexual Anarchy
▪ History has shown that pornography has always
existed in American society, yet for the most part it was
hidden, underground and minimal.
▪ This all begun to change in the 1950s when it was
determined that pornography was supported by the first
amendment!
▸Magazines such as Playboy were then
mainstreamed to American males.

4. The Free Sex Generation of the 60s
▪ This was a time of sex, drugs and
rock & roll!
▪ Many of this generation were
rebelling against all forms of
authority!
▪ The idea of absolute right and
wrong was replaced with “anything
goes!”

5. Statistics on Pornography!
▪ Pornography annual revenue is
larger than professional football,
baseball and basketball combined!
▪ U.S. pornography revenue
exceeds the combined revenue of
ABC, CBS and NBS which is (6.2
billion annually)

6. Child pornography generates 3 billion
annually!
The average age of 1st internet exposure
is 11 years old! The largest consumers
are 12-17 years old! The percent of 15-17
years old having multiple exposures is
80%! 8 out of 10!
I hope with these statistics in mind we
can see why a lesson like this is very
much needed!

7. I. The Condemnation of Pornography!
▪ Pornography is said in our country to fall under one’s
constitutional rights! “Freedom of Speech”
▪ Yet, tonight we are concerned not with man’s view,
but with God’s view on this subject!
▪ God has clearly defined the proper fulfillment of sex
as being between “husband and wife”
▸ Heb 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the
bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers
God will judge. (Cf. 1 Cor. 7:1-5)
▸ Sex is not evil, we have been designed with this
desire in us, but that does not mean we can fulfill it in
any way we please!

8. We never read the word pornography
in the Bible!
But, does this mean it is not addressed by God?
▪ There are many Bible principles that
teach against pornography!
▸ Mt 5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was
said by them of old time, Thou shalt not
commit adultery: But I say unto you, That
whosoever looketh on a woman to lust
after her hath committed adultery with
her already in his heart.

9. Pornography is a sin of lust!
Lust is often condemned in the Bible!
▪ Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is
drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
▪ 1Pe 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as
strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts,
which war against the soul;
▪ Ro 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and
make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts
thereof.
▪ 1Jo 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the
flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is
not of the Father, but is of the world.

10. Pornography is a sin of the mind!
Wrong and ungodly thinking!
▪ Pr 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it
are the issues of life.
▪ Eph 4:17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord,
that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in
the vanity of their mind,
▪ Eph 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being
alienated from the life of God through the ignorance
that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
▪ Eph 4:19 Who being past feeling have given
themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all
uncleanness with greediness.

11. ▪ Ro 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by
the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. And be not conformed to
this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
▪ Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are
true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever
things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are
of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be
any praise, think on these things.

12. II. The Consequences of Pornography!
▪ Dave Miller in Sexual Anarchy says “It transforms
sex into mindless, animalistic gratification and mere
physical stimulation and pleasure!”
▸ Heb 11:24-26 By faith Moses, when he was
come to years, refused to be called the son of
Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer
affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the
pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the
reproach of Christ greater riches than the
treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the
recompence of the reward.

13. Pornography is indeed a sinful passing
pleasure!
Far too many take this sin too lightly!
▪ Pornography dehumanizes men and women, turning
them into nothing more than objects of sexual desire!
▪ The child of God must be willing to stand up against
these perversions!
▸ Eph 5:11-12 And have no fellowship with the
unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove
them. For it is a shame even to speak of those
things which are done of them in secret.
▪ We must keep ourselves pure and set an example
in purity! (1 Tim. 4:12; 5:22)

14. III. The Cure of Pornography!
▪ Now we get to the best part! The cure!
▪ As it is the case with all sins, men can be
forgiven!
▸ God is willing to forgive us if we will turn from
sin and turn to Him!
▪ The one that is caught up in pornography needs
to acknowledge that it is sin and then seek God’s
forgiveness and be forgiven!
▪ It is past time that we as God’s children learn to
be willing to speak out against sin and call it what it
is!

15. Conclusion:
▪ It is past time that we learn that sex is not evil, but
men have perverted their view of sex!
▪ I do hope that this lesson tonight has reminded us of
our need as Christians to speak out against sin and to
stand up for what is right!
▪ The plague of pornography is a problem in our
country and we need to be aware of it!
▪ Have you fallen victim to this plague? Have you
given into an improper view of sexuality?
▪ Jesus is still the cure for sin, He is still the Savior!
▪ Have you had your sins forgiven, are you living your
life for Him?
