"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26
OUTLINE:
1. A heart of stone is dead; it's useless.
2. "I will" Only God can perform the heart transplant, and He's willing!
3. "a new heart" God is not interested in self-improvement of the old one - this is why religion fails. The operation will involve you trusting the Surgeon and 'going under.'
4. The old heart has to go.
5. A perfect heart has been found! - Jesus Christ is the donor.

1) The document discusses the importance of having a holy hunger and thirst for God. It argues that our spiritual hunger determines our spiritual health and that those without hunger may be spiritually dead, sick, or fat.
2) It examines what hunger means according to scripture and explains that hunger is a strong desire that, without fulfillment, could result in death.
3) The document outlines four promises for those who hunger for God's presence, including that God has a special place prepared for the hungry.
This document discusses the importance of continual believing in God and Jesus Christ through one's lifestyle and actions, not just words. It states that true faith is demonstrated through obedience to God's commands and living a life that glorifies Him. While salvation is by grace through faith alone, one's works and fruits naturally flow from true faith and believing in God. The document encourages readers to rely on the Holy Spirit, abide in Christ, and continually renew their faith through reading the Bible.
Bold faith means believing in God's promises and abilities rather than circumstances or other people. It requires fully trusting and depending on God alone. People in the Bible demonstrated bold faith in peculiar ways. Having faith brings peace because it relies on God rather than one's own understanding or strength. Faith is strengthened through humility, walking with the Holy Spirit, and focusing on Jesus as the source of faith rather than sin or independence.
The document discusses staying true to one's calling from God and focuses on several biblical figures as examples. It references passages from 1 Corinthians about ministers being made sufficient by God and not by themselves. It encourages focusing on God first and being found faithful as stewards of God's mysteries. Several topics are listed that seem to provide guidance on defining one's call from God and persevering through challenges to it, such as considering the examples of Oswald Chambers, David, and testing one's faith without giving in.
Sure prayer involves constant communication with God through Jesus, with faith and without doubts. It requires yielding one's will to God's will and demonstrating faith even in difficult circumstances. Sure prayer believes that what is prayed for according to God's word will come to pass. It involves forgiving others, speaking words that confirm rather than deny faith, and praying in line with God's desires as revealed in scripture.
The document discusses Paul's teachings to the Corinthians about their physical bodies based on 1 Corinthians 6:12-20. It outlines the general principles that bodies are designed by God, temporary, and not for sin but for the Lord. It then gives the specific command that their bodies are temples for the Holy Spirit and they have been bought with a price, so they should glorify God with their bodies.
The document discusses the importance of trusting fully in God rather than relying on one's own understanding. It provides several Bible verses exhorting believers to trust in God with all their heart and seek his will. When people trust God, he directs their paths and keeps them safe. In contrast, depending on one's own wisdom is dangerous. The document encourages reading God's word to understand his will, praying for guidance, sacrificing one's will to God's, and trusting that he will answer and direct believers' paths.

This document provides a summary of lectures given by teachers at Summit Ministries on the topic of worldview studies. It discusses the importance of having an understanding of the times to know what actions should be taken. It warns against being spoiled through philosophy and vain deceit that are not based on Christ. It emphasizes taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. When worldviews clash, Christians are called to continue in prayer with thanksgiving and to rejoice in difficult times, knowing their joy comes from the Lord.
Trust in the LORD with ALL Your Hear | Proverbs 3:5-6; 1:7, 21:2 Bible StudyDanny Scotton, Jr.
The fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge and wisdom. We must acknowledge that we creatures lack the knowledge and wisdom of the Creator. Thus, it only makes sense to follow the Creator of life’s instructions for life. We are to trust in the LORD entirely and exclusively, not in our feeble understanding. In everything we do, we are to submit to Him, and He will make our paths straight (morally). Let us not rely on our own moral compass and ethical judgments, for it is the LORD who is the ultimate Judge.

If no one can see God and live (Ex. 33:19-23) then why did Jesus promise the pure in heart that they would "see God"? (Mt. 5:8) How did Job and David see God? (Job 42:5; Psa. 19) How have you seen God? What difference has seeing Him made in your life? What are our hearts naturally? (Jer. 17:9) What are the characteristics of a divided or insincere heart? (Psa. 86:11; Ez. 11:19) Describe the condition of your heart. Why does God want our hearts, even more than our minds, emotions or behavior? (Prov. 4:23; 27:19; Jer. 29:13)

Class 5 Walking by the spirit - John MannellGLCBSLakeland
This document discusses walking by the Spirit and not using freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. It warns against legalism and license, and says freedom should be used as an opportunity to serve others. It contrasts the deeds of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit. It encourages keeping in step with the Spirit and restoring the fallen, like mending nets. It emphasizes unity in Christ and bearing one another's burdens.

The document provides context about the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew chapters 5-7. It discusses that Matthew likely wrote his gospel around 40-55 AD to Jews. It was addressed to Jesus' disciples and covers topics like the beatitudes, loving your enemies, and teachings on divorce that go beyond the Old Testament law. The document aims to explain misunderstandings around the sermon by examining its original context and contents within Jewish history and culture.
Maintaining a pure heart requires forgiveness of sins through obedience to God, and an ongoing process of transformation by renewing one's mind to God's teachings. It involves turning away from sinful influences, submitting to God's work within us, and sacrificing oneself while focusing on virtues. God purifies the heart as we allow Him to mold us into the likeness of Christ through His grace.
The church at Sardis is described as being "dead" despite having a reputation of being alive. Jesus criticizes them for relying on their own works and strength rather than the power of God. He calls them to "wake up" and strengthen their faith by remembering what they have received, keeping it, and repenting. Though most are asleep, a few members remain faithful. Jesus promises that the faithful who overcome will be dressed in white garments and have their names preserved in the Book of Life.
The document discusses the importance of guarding one's heart and having the right heart, head, and home. It emphasizes that a pure heart is necessary to see God and experience heaven. Having the right information in one's head through studying scripture is also important. Together, a pure heart and informed mind will lead to the right home of heaven. The document encourages readers to make sure Jesus is on the throne of their heart so they can one day dwell with God in their eternal home.

Spiritual Warfare for Everyday Life- Spiritual StrongholdsVintage Church
This document discusses the spiritual battle between the flesh and spirit. It emphasizes that God sees things differently than the enemy who wants us to give up or conform to the world. The weapons of our warfare are not of the world but have divine power. It encourages transforming our minds through the renewing of Scripture and taking every thought captive to obey Christ in order to demolish arguments against God. True freedom comes from allowing the Holy Spirit and Word of God to empower and protect our spirit, mind, and will.
The War Within: Spiritual Warfare (Part V)David Turner
The document discusses the battle between the flesh and spirit within Christians. It notes that while Christians still sin due to their fleshly nature, the spirit has conquered through Christ. The spirit provides victory over sin for those who walk by it rather than their flesh. Christians now have freedom and can please God by living according to the spirit and its fruit, rather than the desires of the flesh. The spirit within believers gives them life and power to overcome their sinful flesh.
This document discusses why believers must judge according to the Bible. It explains that believers are entrusted with handling the precious truths of God's word. As such, they must guard these truths carefully. The reason believers must judge is for effective ministry. Jesus always spoke to individuals according to their unique spiritual needs and conditions. Wise Christians first assess a person's heart before sharing the gospel to avoid cheapening its message. The takeaway is that believers carry a precious message and should discern who is ready to receive it before witnessing.
This document provides an overview of different perspectives on the body from a Christian theological viewpoint. It discusses the body as physical and how it is left behind at death. It explores the body as an instrument of both sin and salvation. The body can be cleansed by God and offer worship. The future of the Christian's body is that it will be resurrected, freed, and receive a new glorified body like Jesus'. The document uses numerous Bible verses to support these perspectives.

The document discusses decision-making as a key spiritual discipline. It notes that good decisions strengthen the brain while bad decisions injure it. Satan aims to distort our decision-making through deception. The document advocates developing the mind of Christ and transforming our minds through obedience to God rather than being conformed to the world. It proposes that listening to biblical teachings can help improve our decision-making skills.
Who is really supposed to be in control of our lives? Ameerah Lewis of http://www.hem-of-his-garment-bible-study.org explains how our self-growth and self-sufficient world can create barriers between Believers seeking true intimacy with God and a Heavenly Father that longs for intimacy with us.

The document outlines a meeting for a spiritual fellowship group. It discusses restoring spiritual wholeness by moving from compulsion to purposeful service. It provides an overview of the meeting format which includes worship, introductions, scripture meditation, instruction, discussion, prayer requests, and prayer. The contents section lists the topics that will be covered in the instruction portion, including hearing God's will, doing God's will, increasing spiritual awareness and decreasing pride and lusts, and recognizing the fruit of the spirit.
The document discusses why one must stop their "chariot" or life's journey and obey the gospel of Jesus Christ to be saved. It addresses common misconceptions that moral goodness, religious acts, faith alone, or prayer alone are sufficient for salvation. It notes how the Ethiopian man in Acts 8, who was morally good, religious, reading Scripture and a man of faith, still needed to be baptized by immersion to be saved when Philip preached Jesus to him. The document urges stopping one's chariot now due to life's brevity, the soul's value, impending judgment, and the necessity of obedience to be saved and avoid eternal punishment.
This document discusses the importance of being an engaged church member and combating spiritual dangers. It provides guidelines for church members, such as being functioning, unifying, and not letting personal preferences divide the church. The document also discusses the reality of spiritual conflict from forces like Satan, sin, and the world. However, it emphasizes that Christians have overcome these through Christ and can expect spiritual victory by exposing darkness, resisting the devil, and overcoming delusion. Church leaders are especially vulnerable to attack, so prayer and support are needed.
The document contains a collection of Bible verses, quotes and short passages on various spiritual topics. Some of the key ideas discussed include:
- Devoting yourself totally and exclusively to following Jesus above all else.
- Loving God with your entire being and serving others as you would want to be served.
- Seeking first God's kingdom and righteousness in all things rather than being anxious about worldly possessions or concerns.
- Living according to the Spirit and Word rather than just physical needs like food and clothing.
This document provides an overview and summary of a sermon given on Galatians 5:13-25. The key points are:
1. Christian freedom is not freedom to sin but freedom from sin and freedom to serve others through love.
2. Christians face an ongoing conflict between their sinful nature and living by the Spirit. They must choose not to gratify their sinful desires.
3. Living by the Spirit produces fruit including love, joy, peace and more. Those who live habitually in sin will not inherit God's kingdom.
4. Christians can live victoriously by crucifying their sinful nature through denial of self and by continually walking with the Spirit.
This passage from the Bible describes Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before his crucifixion. Jesus asks his disciples to pray with him but finds them sleeping three times when he returns. He urges them to "watch and pray" so they do not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Jesus, experiencing great anguish, models obedience to God's will through prayer.
Paul is discussing the struggle between the desires of the flesh and the desires of the spirit. While believers have been freed from sin and the condemnation of the law, they still struggle with sinful desires of the flesh as long as they remain in their earthly bodies. Paul expresses his own frustration with continuing to sin despite wanting to do good. He acknowledges that it is no longer truly him committing these sins but the sin that dwells within his flesh. He longs to be delivered completely from this "body of death."

What makes the difference? - Pr. Paulo RabelloPaulo Rabello
The document discusses the power and importance of intercessory prayer. It provides biblical examples and quotes from Ellen G. White to support the following key points:
1) Intercessory prayer is recommended in the Bible and can have positive impacts for those being prayed for as well as the one praying.
2) God is willing to hear our prayers and grant what we are praying for according to His will.
3) Heavenly beings such as angels are attentively waiting to act in favor of God and His cause in response to prayers.
4) Engaging in intercessory prayer on behalf of others is beneficial both for them and for our own spiritual growth and relationship with God.
This summary provides the key details from the document in 3 sentences:
The document describes a church service at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with services at 8:15 am and 10:45 am. It then shares several passages from the Bible, including a story from the book of John about Jesus healing a man at the pool of Bethesda who had been ill for 38 years. The document closes with reflections on wealth and generosity, encouraging readers to adopt a "basket mindset" of giving rather than a "bag mindset" of always taking.
do God's work, It is the work of God, the conqueror of the world is our fait...franktsao4
If we think of doing God’s work, we may think of establishing churches, leading people to the Lord, or going on mission. However, some people asked Jesus what it means to do God’s work. Jesus Christ said that believing that what God has sent is doing God’s work. But how can we link believing with doing God’s work? This is what this chapter is about to discuss. We can know from the discussion that if God thinks you believe in Him, you will do His work. Because He wants to do is impossible without faith, but if we have faith, there must be corresponding actions
The document discusses Jesus' commands on judging from Matthew 7:1-5. It provides context for understanding these verses. Jesus is saying that Christians should discern between right and wrong but should not condemn others or act as judges. Those who harshly condemn others will receive similar judgment. Christians are called to love unconditionally, though they need not approve of all actions. Jesus warns against hypocrisy and focusing on minor faults in others while ignoring larger faults in oneself. Christians should examine themselves before examining others and understand others' struggles with compassion.
The document provides a summary of the biblical book of Ezekiel chapter 37, which contains Ezekiel's vision of the valley of dry bones. In the vision, God asks Ezekiel if the dry bones can live again, and commands Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones. As Ezekiel prophesies, the bones come together and are clothed with flesh and skin, but have no breath. God then commands Ezekiel to prophesy to the breath, and as he does so breath enters the bodies and they come alive as a vast army. God explains that the vision signifies his ability to restore the people of Israel to their homeland from exile, bringing new life where there seemed to be no hope. The document then discusses the concept of biblical hope and how
The document discusses Christianity and its answers to "big questions" such as the nature of reality, humanity, morality, truth, and the problem of suffering. It addresses where truth is found, asserting that natural laws can be observed through science, while spiritual laws are comprehended through the Holy Spirit and God's word. The Bible is presented as the standard of truth.

A375 Example Taste the taste of the Lord, the taste of the Lord The taste of...franktsao4
It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
