The document discusses Jesus' commands on judging from Matthew 7:1-5. It provides context for understanding these verses. Jesus is saying that Christians should discern between right and wrong but should not condemn others or act as judges. Those who harshly condemn others will receive similar judgment. Christians are called to love unconditionally, though they need not approve of all actions. Jesus warns against hypocrisy and focusing on minor faults in others while ignoring larger faults in oneself. Christians should examine themselves before examining others and understand others' struggles with compassion.
This document discusses why believers must judge according to the Bible. It explains that believers are entrusted with handling the precious truths of God's word. As such, they must guard these truths carefully. The reason believers must judge is for effective ministry. Jesus always spoke to individuals according to their unique spiritual needs and conditions. Wise Christians first assess a person's heart before sharing the gospel to avoid cheapening its message. The takeaway is that believers carry a precious message and should discern who is ready to receive it before witnessing.
This document provides a summary of Jesus' teachings on prayer and righteousness from the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6:1-18. It discusses three main points:
1) Giving to please God only, not to impress others or be noticed by men. Jesus instructs to keep giving secret and do it for God, not people.
2) Praying to God, not to impress others. Jesus warns against praying publicly just to be seen and getting praise from men as one's only reward.
3) Providing a model prayer as an example of proper subjects to include in prayer, such as praising God, seeking his kingdom and will, requesting daily needs, and asking for forgiveness
This sermon discusses the resources believers need to judge rightly.
- The greatest resource is prayer to God, who is perfectly wise and can grant wisdom (James 1:5). Believers must pray for God's direction in situations requiring judgment.
- Jesus emphasizes persistence in prayer - "Ask, seek, knock." Prayer should be continual and bold before God's throne of grace.
- Jesus illustrates God's trustworthiness through a analogy - even imperfect human fathers give good gifts to children, so how much more will our perfect Father in heaven give good things to those who ask?

Encouraging Words The Art of a Quick RecoveryDan Wooldridge
This document discusses the concept of making a quick recovery from sin. It argues that a quick recovery honors God by getting back to righteous living as soon as possible through true repentance, forgiveness, and holiness. True repentance involves godly sorrow for sin rather than worldly sorrow. It also means acknowledging the truth through conviction by one's conscience and the Holy Spirit rather than false condemnation. The document emphasizes relying on faith in God's forgiveness rather than prolonged feelings of penance or self-punishment after sinning. It encourages believers to get back to righteous living with joy as soon as they repent, as if they had never sinned at all.
The document discusses visions and how God communicates through them. It provides context on visions from the Bible involving Cornelius and Peter. Key points made include:
- Visions can involve pictures, moving scenes, literal sight, dreams, and being carried away in spirit.
- The passage in Acts 10 details Cornelius' vision to summon Peter and Peter's vision of unclean animals to demonstrate the Gospel is for Gentiles too.
- The visions prepared them to meet where Peter could share the Gospel, and the Holy Spirit fell upon Cornelius' household when they believed, demonstrating salvation for all.
The lesson covers the Annunciation of Mary, and much of the story of Zacharias and Elisabeth. The source of this lesson can be found at this link:

This document provides an overview of deliverance from evil spirits. It discusses that deliverance is an important part of Jesus' mission and believers can continue his ministry of deliverance today. Evil spirits can gain access through sexual sin and porn addiction, which is increasingly common. The document outlines preparing for deliverance through prayer and repentance. It also describes what typically occurs during deliverance sessions, including prayers, worship, confession, and commanding spirits to leave in Jesus' name. Maintaining faith in God's power and authority is key to receiving freedom through deliverance.
The document provides an introduction to deliverance ministry, explaining that teaching on demons and deliverance provokes their manifestation. It emphasizes the importance of full surrender to God before engaging in spiritual warfare. It then discusses offensive and defensive spiritual warfare, describing tactics for both. These include asserting authority over demons, breaking agreements with evil spirits, commanding spirits to leave, and persisting until release. The document outlines potential exit routes for demons and signs that deliverance is complete. It stresses the importance of aftercare for the person and teaching them how to maintain their freedom.

1. The document discusses the roles and process of prophesizing, with God as the originator of any message, the speaker as the vessel who receives and delivers the message, and the recipient who receives and interprets it.
2. It emphasizes that a message received through prophesizing comes from God by way of the Holy Spirit, and that the speaker should allow the Spirit to guide them and speak freely without adding personal interpretation.
3. The recipient is advised to pray for wisdom and revelation in discerning the meaning and application of any message received through prophesizing.
Self-examination of walking GOD’s way/ growth of confidence The word of the B...franktsao4
When we walk the spiritual path, the first thing is to be sanctified, that is, to be separated from the world. This does not mean that we have to leave this world immediately, but that although we are in the world, everything we do, what we say, is representing God. And we can always remain unbiased in God’s truth, and at the same time continue to thrive. This chapter will discuss this topic
This document provides an overview of a seminar on learning to prophesy. It defines prophecy as speaking out the mind of God under divine inspiration. It discusses some dictionary definitions of prophecy and how prophecy is described in the Bible. It explores what prophecy involves, including edifying, exhorting, and comforting people. It examines what fills God's heart (love) and how our hearts must be in tune with God's heart to prophesy well. The document outlines three realms of prophecy: the Bible, prophetic inspiration, and activations where participants practice prophesying to each other. It encourages reading Isaiah 49:1-3 for the next session.
The three persons involved in the act of prophesying. God, the giver of the word. The person receiving from God to transmit the word. The final receiver.
This document discusses renewing the mind and guarding the "gateways" or portals of the soul, which are described as conscience, reason, imagination, mind, emotions, choice, and will. It provides biblical references about having a renewed spirit and mind. Definitions are given for these concepts from dictionaries and encyclopedias. Robert Plutchik's wheel of emotions is discussed as it relates to how basic emotions combine to form new secondary emotions. The importance of placing Jesus as the gatekeeper of the soul's portals is emphasized so that evil thoughts cannot enter and one can naturally follow Christ. The document concludes with a call to prayer to repent of allowing demonic activity through the portals and to wipe them clean by
The document discusses the problem of suffering and evil in the world. It presents three main categories of suffering: 1) Suffering caused by man, 2) Natural disasters, and 3) Disease. It also notes that atheists use the pervasiveness of suffering to discredit the idea of a loving God. However, theists believe God may have reasons for allowing suffering that humans do not understand. The document argues that atheists must prove: 1) The impossibility of God using evil for a greater good, 2) That God could have no reasons for allowing suffering, and 3) An instance of definitively pointless suffering. But overall, humans may lack the information to make definitive judgments about God's reasons for permitting evil
This document provides information about a learning to prophesy seminar happening that evening from 7-9pm. It begins by defining prophecy as speaking out the mind of God under divine inspiration. It then discusses what prophecy means according to the Bible and dictionaries, including that it involves edifying, exhorting, and comforting people as well as restoring God's image in them. The document emphasizes that prophecy comes from having God at the center of one's heart and being filled with His love, so that His love can then be poured out to others. It concludes by having attendees declare prophecies over each other based on Bible verses provided and encourages reading Isaiah 49:1-3 in preparation for sharing next week.
Bruce R. McConkie taught a 4 step process for setting righteous goals and having them fulfilled through faith and prayer:
1. Choose a righteous desire such as a baptism goal for a ward.
2. Receive an assurance through prayer and the Holy Ghost that the goal is right.
3. Commit to overcoming obstacles to achieve the goal through faith and obedience to God's commandments.
4. Call upon the name of the Lord through prayer and faith for help in achieving the goal despite tribulations. Through this process, righteous desires can be fulfilled according to the will of God.
This document provides information on developing the gift of prophecy. It begins by welcoming participants to a seminar on learning to prophesy. It then discusses that prophecy involves speaking words of edification, exhortation and comfort. It encourages pursuing the gift of prophecy and outlines several ways to develop the prophetic gift, including coveting the gift, releasing faith through God's word, operating in the anointing through worship, being around anointed people, triggering the gift at appropriate times, discerning the spirit, and stirring up the gift through reading scripture aloud. It concludes by providing two prophetic declarations for participants to learn and declare over their own lives concerning favor and blessing.

The document appears to be a call to worship service. It includes hymns, scripture readings, and a sermon on whether it matters what churches teach, believe, how they worship, and how people are saved. The sermon argues that it does matter based on warnings in the Bible about false teachings and the need to follow God's prescribed way of worship and salvation. It cautions against ideas that all churches are equal or that the way to heaven does not matter, citing biblical examples of the importance of correct doctrine and practice.
This document discusses the power of imagination and how to control it. It defines imagination as the faculty of forming mental images, concepts, and ideas without external stimulation of the senses. It notes that if we stop praising God, our imagination will imagine negative things instead of positive. However, we can control our imagination - if we focus on God, our imagination will see things properly. The document provides exercises to guide others using imagination and biblical passages about keeping our heart and trusting in God's plans and strength. It encourages speaking our destiny prophetically.
There are gateways that connect the Holy Spirit with our spirit; the spirit with the soul and the soul with the body and the body with the external world. Do you know them?

This document provides a summary of lectures given by teachers at Summit Ministries on the topic of worldview studies. It discusses the importance of having an understanding of the times to know what actions should be taken. It warns against being spoiled through philosophy and vain deceit that are not based on Christ. It emphasizes taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. When worldviews clash, Christians are called to continue in prayer with thanksgiving and to rejoice in difficult times, knowing their joy comes from the Lord.
This document provides an overview and analysis of Matthew 5:1-16, where Jesus delivers the Sermon on the Mount. It discusses the first three parts of Jesus' message on attitudes: 1) being poor in spirit through humility, 2) mourning over sin through repentance, and 3) being meek rather than weak by relying on God's strength. The key points are that Jesus taught his disciples true righteousness through attitudes of humility before God, sorrow over sin, and gentleness controlled by faith in God rather than self-will.
Jesus heals a paralyzed man brought to him by four friends. When Jesus sees their faith, he tells the man his sins are forgiven. Religious leaders object, but Jesus emphasizes that forgiving sins is most important. Jesus then heals the man's paralysis to prove he has authority to forgive sins. The crowds are amazed at God's power through Jesus to heal both spiritually and physically.

He instructs that one should not store up treasures on earth that can be destroyed or stolen, but instead should store treasures in heaven through giving generously. Having an earthly focus on money and possessions shows that it has become a false god that one serves rather than God. True disciples cannot serve both God and wealth.

The document discusses the importance of trusting fully in God rather than relying on one's own understanding. It provides several Bible verses exhorting believers to trust in God with all their heart and seek his will. When people trust God, he directs their paths and keeps them safe. In contrast, depending on one's own wisdom is dangerous. The document encourages reading God's word to understand his will, praying for guidance, sacrificing one's will to God's, and trusting that he will answer and direct believers' paths.
The passage describes Jesus healing the servant of a Roman centurion from a distance. It says:
1) A centurion approached Jesus, asking him to heal his paralyzed servant. Though a Gentile soldier, the centurion demonstrated great faith in Jesus.
2) When Jesus offered to come to the centurion's home, the centurion insisted that Jesus only need say the word to heal him. The centurion understood Jesus' authority.
3) Impressed by the centurion's faith, Jesus healed the servant from a distance immediately, as the centurion believed. It was one of the first times Jesus referred to hell. The passage emphasizes that Jesus' grace is for all people.
SPIRIT CONTROLLED STEWARD AND HIS STEWARDSHIPOKE OLUSEGUN
IN A NUTSHELL,HOW CAN WE DESCRIBE YOU AS A BELIEVER HOLDING A PUBLIC POST IN A SOCIETY?,HOW DO WE DESCRIBE YOUR HOME,COMPANY,LIFESTYLE .....PROFIT DRIVEN OR SPIRIT DRIVEN? THE ANSWER WILL HELP TO MANAGE GOD'S RESOURCES AT YOUR DISPOSAL
1. Suffering is to be expected as a disciple of Christ, as he was persecuted. Disciples should expect to be treated the same as their teacher.
2. God will bring all things to light, so disciples should not fear revealing the truth, even when opposed secretly.
3. Disciples should only fear God, not those who can kill the body, as God controls both body and soul.
Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits and to heal diseases. These twelve were called apostles. Jesus gave them specific instructions for their mission, telling them to only go to Israel and preach that the kingdom of heaven was at hand. They were not to acquire possessions and were to stay in worthy houses. This shows the unique mission of these twelve apostles, which differs from the Great Commission given later to spread the gospel to all nations. Therefore, there are good arguments that there are no apostles in the modern sense, as their role was unique and tied to the founding of the early church.
Jesus traveled through cities and villages teaching, preaching the gospel, and healing people. He saw the crowds as like sheep without a shepherd and felt compassion for them. Jesus told his disciples that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, and instructed them to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out more workers.
Jesus heals two blind men and a mute man possessed by a demon. When the blind men cry out to Jesus as "Son of David," and affirm their belief that he can heal them, Jesus touches their eyes and restores their sight. A mute man is then brought to Jesus, and after casting out the demon, the man regains his ability to speak, astonishing the crowds. The Pharisees attribute Jesus' power to Satan.
1) A woman who had been suffering from bleeding for 12 years believed that if she touched Jesus' cloak she would be healed. When she did, her bleeding stopped.
2) Jesus asked who touched him, and the woman admitted what she had done. Jesus said her faith had healed her and told her to go in peace.
3) This story and that of Jairus' daughter illustrate that when others are healed through faith, it can strengthen our own faith and bring us hope in difficult times.
This document discusses three lessons from Matthew 9:18-26: humility, hope, and healing. It describes how the synagogue ruler Jairus humbly asked Jesus for help despite his high social standing. It also explains how the woman's touching of Jesus' robe delayed healing but strengthened Jairus' faith. Finally, it recounts how Jesus dispelled the scoffing crowd and raised the dead girl, blessing Jairus' persistent faith.
Jesus provides four illustrations of his ministry's purpose on Earth: (1) as a physician to heal the sick, referring to calling sinners, not the righteous; (2) as the bridegroom whose presence brings joy rather than fasting; (3) as providing new unshrunk cloth rather than patching old garments; and (4) as filling new wineskins rather than bursting old ones with new wine. The overall message is that Jesus came to bring spiritual healing and new life, not just fix the old.
The First Southern Baptist Church of North Hollywood is planning a four-Sunday "April Mini-Revival" from April 8-29. They encourage members to pray, attend services, invite others, worship, and praise God. The revival aims to spur spiritual awakening in the church based on 2 Chronicles 7:14. Sunday services will include regular morning preachers and guest preacher Hughlen Johnson in the evenings.
Jesus heals two demon-possessed men in the country of the Gadarenes. Satan had robbed the men of their sanity and self-control, leaving them living in tombs and violently threatening others. When Jesus encounters the men, he casts the demons out of them. This contrasts what Satan does to people versus what society and Jesus can do. While society isolates and restrains, Jesus transforms people and values them over property or animals. The demons recognize Jesus' deity and power, knowing he has come to judge them. The healing shows Jesus helps everyone, not just Jews.
The disciples were hiding behind locked doors on the evening of Jesus' resurrection out of fear of the Jewish leaders. Jesus suddenly appeared among them and said "Peace be with you." He showed them his hands and side to prove he had been resurrected. The disciples were overjoyed to see Jesus alive again. His resurrection proved that he had conquered sin and death, and through faith in him believers can have eternal life.
This document summarizes a passage from Matthew 8:23-27 where Jesus calms a storm after his disciples wake him up, frightened. It notes that: 1) Jesus was asleep during the storm, showing he was not concerned, while his disciples followed him; 2) When the disciples woke Jesus in fear, he rebuked them for their lack of faith; 3) Jesus then calmed the storm with a command, demonstrating his power over nature and as the one in control. The key message is that believers should trust Jesus during life's storms because he is sovereign over all things.
This document is a newsletter from the First Southern Baptist Church of North Hollywood announcing their Easter Sunday services and events. It provides details on their full schedule of three services for Easter Sunday, including messages from their interim and minister pastors and music from their choir. It also lists attendance and offering amounts from the previous two Sundays. The final section discusses finding an accountability partner to "search your heart" with and provides advice on choosing someone consistent, spirit-filled, knowledgeable, honest, loving, and patient for this role.
This document discusses the cost of discipleship according to Jesus. It provides three key costs: 1) The cost to your home, as Jesus had no home and followers must be willing to leave their homes to follow him. 2) The cost to potential followers, as Jesus warns one man that following him may require hardship like Jesus experienced. 3) The cost to your family, as Jesus tells a man that he must be willing to let his deceased father be buried without him in order to follow Jesus fully. Overall, the document examines Jesus' teachings on how discipleship requires putting him before all else, including one's family, comforts, and possessions.
This document discusses a story from Matthew 8:14-17 where Jesus heals Peter's mother-in-law of a fever. It notes that while this may seem a minor miracle, it was significant because women had low status yet Jesus cared for her needs. When she was healed, many demon-possessed and ill people came to Jesus for healing, fulfilling a prophecy that he would bear our sicknesses. The document emphasizes that Jesus fulfilled this prophecy through his earthly ministry, not just through his death on the cross.
This document provides information about events at the First Southern Baptist Church of North Hollywood on March 11th and Easter Sunday, April 1st. It encourages parishioners to attend for four reasons: 1) To find comfort after losing an hour of sleep to daylight saving time. 2) A free mini-brunch will be provided after the 8:30am service. 3) Mike Sandy will perform music to lift spirits at the 8:30am and 11:00am services, including a song he wrote called "Shoot That Devil Down!". 4) Reverend Hughlen Johnson will give a message on "Spiritual Warfare 101" at the 6:30pm service. The Easter schedule includes services at 8:30am,
- Jesus heals a leper by touching him, taking on himself the man's impurity and cleansing him of leprosy as a sign of taking on humanity's sin.
- The healing shows Jesus' willingness to save the lost and take upon himself humanity's diseases and sins.
- Jesus tells the man to see the priests as required by law as testimony to his healing, though the man disobeys and spreads the word anyway.
- Jesus finishes teaching from the Sermon on the Mount by addressing how Christians should prepare for God's judgement. He explains that merely claiming to follow God but not obeying His will is insufficient, and on judgement day God will reject those who knew His words but did not act on them.
- Jesus compares Christians to builders, one who builds his house on a solid rock foundation by both hearing and obeying God's words, and one who builds on sand by only hearing but not acting on God's words. When troubles come, only the house built on the rock remains standing.
- True faith is demonstrated through obedience to God's word, not just words or works. Christians must hear God's words and do them

This sermon discusses judging others based on Matthew 7:13-20. It notes there are two routes to eternity - the wide path that leads to destruction, and the narrow path that leads to life through Jesus. False prophets try to deceive people and lead them astray. A person's salvation can be evaluated based on two questions: 1) Has their faith in Christ cost them anything? and 2) Did their decision for Christ change them? The sermon uses the illustration of trees bearing fruit to represent how a true believer will produce good works, while a false prophet only produces false righteousness.
