This chapter discusses different perspectives on the nature of reality from philosophy and science. It addresses questions about whether there is an underlying reality beyond appearances, the relationship between the mind and reality, and Plato's theory of Forms. It also covers Aristotle's rejection of separate Forms, Buddhist concepts of emptiness and interdependence, Taoist views of yin and yang, and modern physics which challenges classical views of reality. The chapter concludes by examining perspectives on order in the cosmos from various philosophical and religious traditions.
This document contains an introduction by Swami Vivekananda to a series of lectures on Jnana Yoga. It discusses how religious thought is an innate part of human constitution and the eternal search for understanding the infinite and unknowable. It questions why we should be content with only knowing the finite world and not seek the infinite beyond. Understanding the beyond through religion is what distinguishes humans from animals and drives human progress. Religion permeates all aspects of human life, both material and spiritual, and brings eternal life by transforming human into divine.
The document discusses different philosophical perspectives on the self from ancient to modern times. It describes views such as:
- For the Pre-Socratics like Heraclitus, the soul's movement is the ultimate source of all other movement.
- Socrates believed the true task is to know oneself and that the unexamined life is not worth living.
- Plato saw the soul as having three components - reason, emotions, and desires - and virtue comes from balancing these.
- For Descartes, the self is the mind, and "I think therefore I am" captures his view that the only indubitable fact is one's own existence as a thinking being.
-
This document discusses sociological perspectives on health care. It covers:

The document provides an overview of several early Greek philosophers who lived prior to Socrates, known as the pre-Socratics. It discusses their ideas and philosophical questions, including Thales who proposed everything is made of water, Pythagoras who believed in mathematical and numerical principles of reality, and Parmenides who argued that change is an illusion and the true nature of reality is eternal and unchanging. It also summarizes the atomic theory of Democritus and how pre-Socratic philosophers influenced later traditions of Western philosophy.
The topic of God has confounded the world since the beginning of mankind. It can be a very difficult, complex, and often confusing subject. Numerous theories about God, religions, and beliefs have emerged, but while the motives of those creating and promoting these different understandings may be well intentioned, logic and the beliefs themselves make it impossible for all of them to be correct. In fact, they are mutually exclusive - there cannot be no God and a God; there cannot be one and only one God as some religions believe and, at the same time, be many Gods; and so on.
In an effort to put all of these issues in proper perspective, this slide show presentation provides a broad variety of facts, logic, perspectives, and references that can help you form your own belief about this most important question. We encourage you to review this presentation and the referred web site, Blogs, cited references, and a subsequent presentation about who God is if you conclude there is a God, with an open heart and an open mind!
The document discusses two prevailing views on the origin of life - the scientific view and the religious view. Scientifically, life is believed to have emerged from inert molecules joining to form proteins and functioning symbiotically, though this is highly improbable. Religiously, an external creator is believed to have generated the cosmos and life on Earth. The document also notes that while hypotheses exist, the exact origins of life may never be fully known and mystery is part of understanding this topic. It advocates exploring life's characteristics without a definitive origin definition.
An existential phenomenological model of human development focuses on themes such as being in space and time, relationships, personal identity, adversity, freedom, and responsibility. This model views development as a lifelong process of engaging with ontological themes in a distinctive way based on one's context. An existential theory emphasizes that existence precedes essence, personal responsibility, and phenomenology. It explores how people understand existential questions of life, death, and purpose at different stages.
Planetary dynamics from images for venus planet @ universal fame .Deepak Somaji-Sawant
This document provides an overview of Spiral Dynamics, which proposes that human societies and cultures progress through stages of development analogous to the evolution of consciousness. It describes the 8 stages proposed by Spiral Dynamics, comparing each stage to a chakra or core worldview. The document also discusses the philosophical and psychological influences on Spiral Dynamics, such as Clare Graves, Ken Wilber, and developmental psychology. It argues that Spiral Dynamics integrates ancient concepts like the chakras with modern theories of cultural and historical development.
This document provides an introduction to the author's book "Transacting Sites of the Liminal Bodily Spaces" which examines spaces within and around the human body. The author defines key concepts like "transacting" to refer to the coexistence of hidden and unhidden zones within and around the body. The document discusses how illness can alter one's bodily identity and sense of belonging. It also examines debates around defining health and debates the desire to return the body to its pre-illness condition. The author aims to better understand bodily spaces affected by illness through analyzing works where characters experience life-altering illnesses.
This document discusses various creation myths and theories, including from Genesis, ancient Mesopotamian myths, and the scientific theory of evolution. It notes that while science has evidence for evolution, evolution and ancient myths can both be considered stories or frameworks for understanding creation. The document concludes that there are reasonable perspectives on both sides and it is up to each individual to decide what they believe based on carefully considering the evidence and perspectives.
Let Me Share With You Before And After DeathDakota Dragon
On February 25, 2015. My mother passed away. What she did was passed on and she has passed on many things in me I have developed to share with you. In the days gone by I have cried alot and it has created a river of pain. Let me share how and the why I am moving through this river of pain. Written by: Dr. Paul W Spirit Running Bear Dyer
Let Me Share With You Before And After Death.Dakota Dragon
1) The document discusses the author's practice of a 3D system to help cope with the death of his mother and manage pain and suffering.
2) It explains the system does not have any religious or philosophical underpinnings and uses a hands-on approach combining scientific and medical research with holistic fields.
3) The author believes humanity may be in a dark age currently but that we are in an ascending phase and spiritual evolution is an ongoing process that will allow humanity to one day transcend external influences and live in a perpetual golden age.
Worldviews and their (im)plausibility: Science and HolismJohnWilkins48
Since Kant used the word Weltanschaungen with reference to the mathematical sublime in the Critique in 1790, this notion of a foundational grounding that determines, or at least influences, our way of experiencing and comprehending the world has been taken up, at first by Fichte and Schilling and later by theologians, as a fact of cognition. Englert (2022) calls this the “worldview maneuver”, but by the end of the nineteenth century, this had become a doctrine, or theory, and I will call it the Worldview Theory (or WVT). Over a century after Kant, in 1908, James Orr wrote A Christian view of God and the world, which made the term and notion more or less ubiquitous.
"although the existence of something independent of the mind is conceded, everything that we can know about this mind-independent “reality” is held to be so permeated by the creative, formative, or constructive activities of the mind (of some kind or other) that all claims to knowledge must be considered, in some sense, to be a form of self-knowledge [Guyer and Horstmann, 2023)"
and this was echoed and amplified throughout the twentieth century, by linguists, anthropologists, psychoanalysts, educational theorists, political theorists of the Frankfurt School, and of course philosophy, with Wittgenstein in the Investigations and On Certainty one of the more influential amplifiers. And of course, in the philosophy of science, we have theory-dependence of observation, Kuhn’s “paradigms”, disciplinary matrices and their consequent incommensurabilities.
So a lot of weight is carried by the WVT. But just how plausible are worldviews? I will argue there is a spectrum ranging from hard determinism of beliefs and actions through to soft influences, and that WVT equivocates on this spectrum. I will argue further that the acquisition of belief structures inevitably occurs piecemeal, and that no overarching belief systems ever develop, or could. Finally, I will suggest that we actually acquire such views of the world as we typically have through the populating of our belief nets by picking prêt-à-porter beliefs from epistemic authorities.
This document provides an overview of the philosophy of Cosmic Awareness according to Ralph Duby, the interpreter. It discusses the creation of the universe, the development of life from mere vitality to simple awareness to self-awareness and higher states of consciousness like cosmic awareness. It also touches on the purpose of human life, developing faith and belief, and describes the planes of existence as Limbo and Essence.
Understanding the self lecture 1 - PHILOSOPHICAL PERSPECTIVESShin Chan
The document discusses different philosophical perspectives on the self from ancient to modern times. It covers views of the self from pre-Socratic philosophers like Thales who saw the soul as the primal matter and source of movement. Socrates believed man has both a body and soul and that the unexamined life is not worth living. Plato saw the soul as having rational, spirited and appetitive components. Later philosophers like Augustine, Aquinas and Descartes further developed ideas of the soul/mind being distinct from the body. Hume rejected the idea of a soul beyond the physical and saw the self as a bundle of perceptions. Kant and later philosophers viewed the self as organizing sensory experiences.
This document discusses concepts like truth, facts, consciousness, spirituality, and how we can change teaching approaches. It questions what truth and facts really are, arguing they are social constructs that reflect cultural values rather than absolute realities. It advocates expanding consciousness by exploring multiple perspectives rather than seeking a single truth. The document suggests teaching in a way that shifts focus from convergent thinking to more divergent and transformative approaches, and asking driving questions that help students increase their consciousness rather than simply learning preset content.
1) The document discusses how human knowledge and theories have evolved over time in the areas of science and art as human perception and ways of thinking have changed.
2) It provides examples of how scientific theories like views of the shape of the Earth have been discarded and replaced as human perception expanded. Art movements like Cubism also changed perceptions.
3) However, it notes some knowledge like deep emotional experiences may be unaffected by changed perspectives. Overall, the evolution of human thought and new discoveries drive changes in what is considered true knowledge.

This document discusses mystical and metaphysical claims and beliefs. It provides examples of mystical statements from figures like Ken Wilber and Dr. Bronner. It then examines some issues with mystical and metaphysical claims, such as the tendency to conflate what is good with what is real, and the potential for faulty logic. The document argues that embodiment, fallibility, and cognitive biases should encourage caution and reflection regarding absolute or foundational claims about reality that cannot be scientifically proven.

Digital Banking in the Cloud: How Citizens Bank Unlocked Their MainframePrecisely
Inconsistent user experience and siloed data, high costs, and changing customer expectations – Citizens Bank was experiencing these challenges while it was attempting to deliver a superior digital banking experience for its clients. Its core banking applications run on the mainframe and Citizens was using legacy utilities to get the critical mainframe data to feed customer-facing channels, like call centers, web, and mobile. Ultimately, this led to higher operating costs (MIPS), delayed response times, and longer time to market.
Ever-changing customer expectations demand more modern digital experiences, and the bank needed to find a solution that could provide real-time data to its customer channels with low latency and operating costs. Join this session to learn how Citizens is leveraging Precisely to replicate mainframe data to its customer channels and deliver on their “modern digital bank” experiences.

Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
I'll share insights into how the Ruby and RubyGems core team works to keep our ecosystem safe. By the end of this talk, you'll have a better understanding of how to safeguard your code.
zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...Alex Pruden
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

3. Billions of Humans been born, lived for a while then dead and gone!
Many lived, are currently living an average life and follow the
norms, dictates of the rulers, society & governments. They never
bothered to question the status quo, and those questioned within does
not & dare not challenge the prevailing system!
4. However, from time immemorial in every generation, in every century, a miniscule
pocket of thinkers, rather radical thinkers, independent of their current financial
situation, social status etc., are kind of stressed within and struggled to answer the
mind-boggling questions of their own Intellect! Some even ended up losing their
lives to the cause!
Some of their fundamental questions are:
Is there a Parallel Universe that Exist apart from this Observable Universe?
What could be beyond the Observable Universe?
Is the Universe Infinite?
5. “
Multiverse is it just a theory or a possibility? Does my own Individual Self exist in
different Parallel Universe?
Are there, Infinite number of My Individual Self exist in Infinite Multiverse? Do
they exist at the same time doing either the same activities of what I am doing
currently or varied activities?
5
6. Is Time Travel Possible? Can I go backwards in Time and change the Future? Can I
go forward in Time and observe the future? Is it possible for me to find ways to
change the past and future etc.
Some thinkers pondered When did time began? Alas! they know not the logical
fallacy in their Question! “When” as a word is synonymous with “At What Time” –
so the question amounts to “At What Time did TIME Began!?” Does it make sense?
Yet the most Physicists believe, TIME BEGAN AT THE TIME OF BIG BANG! –
so what happened to TIME before Big Bang, the state of Singularity?
An inseparable twin concept to TIME TRAVEL is TELEPORTATION. Extensive
research on TELEPORTATION is still being carried out by some of the Scientists.
It’s about Matter and (or) Energy being transported from one location to another
distant location, without the need for the Matter or Energy to traverse through the
Space between the locations!
7. Ancient Vedic literature too points to an existence of 14 Multiverses. This
Observable Universe we all exist including the Planet Earth, Milky Way Galaxy
etc. is called as BHU LOKA. And higher in terms in terms of Quality of
Experiences than the BHU LOKA there exists 6 other Higher Universes namely,
•Bhuvar Loka
•Suvar Loka
•Mahar Loka
•Jana Loka
•Tapo Loka
•Satya Loka
8. Likewise, the Vedas point out lower in terms of Quality of Experiences than the BHU
LOKA there exist Seven Lower Universes as below:
• Athala Loka
• Vithala Loka
• Suthla Loka
• Rasathala Loka,
• Mahathala Loka,
• Thalaathala Loka
• Paathala Loka
9. ⬢ With the above information, especially those thinkers must also need to
understand all their pursuits in one way or the other points to kind of, to
know What INFINITY is? The deep desire of these thinkers, to know
what Infinity is, manifests in different ways as to get to know and
establish the existence of Parallel Universe, Multiverse, Time Travel,
Teleportation etc.!
⬢ If only a methodology is devised for these thinkers to Understand
Infinity, become one with Infinity, then automatically all their
Intellectual queries shall be quenched forever, for the very fact what
they pursue and not able to achieve Scientifically and Intellectually, are
only a subset of the ONE Infinity.
10. Steppingstone in that direction is to understand what is the LOGIC BEHIND
“CAPTURING INFINITY”.
Refer to the link
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU3q6_TzOaQ&t=37s which shall pave way
for those Strong Intellects having queries about Multiverse Theory, Parallel
Universe, Time Travel, Teleportation & never-ending quest in understanding
what Infinity is.
