Middle
O After the initial shots of the movie sequence The
Maze Runner continues with the majority of the
shots focusing on the main character, the
protagonist in which the audience learns about his
story and what role he is going to play in the film,
either from his actions, words or from the other
characters. It should be easy for the audience to be
able to distinguish the main character apart from the
support actors.
O During the middle of the movie trailer they show
more of the setting and do this from using crane
shots and point of view shots, this is to purely show
the audience of the characters surroundings and
make them feel more of a part of what is happening
and letting them more into the experience of the
characters may be feeling or going through in the
film/ trailer.

IDEOLOGY
O The purpose is to promote the movie and
try and get as many people as possible to
wither to go to the cinema to watch the
film or buy the movie either through dvd
sales or on the internet or through any
broadcast companies. Therefore there
main goal of the trailer is to increase
publicity of the movie and try and get
more sales.
IDEOLOGY
O Using the socio-economic audience theory the movie
trailer don’t apply to the unemployed or those on very
low income from casual work as they will not be able to
afford to go to the cinema to watch the film or to buy a
copy of the dvd, because this film would be seen as a
luxury item or service for them in which they would
have to save to be able to go. Therefore it more
applies to all of the categories except the unemployed
and the high ranking manager in industry or
professions such as law or medicine, because they are
more likely to go to theatres and plays rather than a
public viewing of a film, in which they would be more
likely to watch the film for free through broadcast
companies like Sky.
IDEOLOGY
O Using the ITV sales demographics the
categories most likely to want to watch the film
and the target audience for Maze Runner would
most likely be Adults/ men in the ABC, social
class category and maybe men aged between
15-34. But the main audience may actually be
teenagers as this is a thrilling film that appeal to
a younger audience due to nearly all the actors
are playing teenage characters and all but one
of the teenage characters are male. Therefore
the audience of teenage males will be able to
relate to this film a lot easier and maybe an
important factor to whether or not the intended
audience go to watch the film.
