The movie The Lobster is set in a dystopian future where it is mandatory to find a romantic partner or be transformed into an animal. The film examines different perspectives on love, including those who force it upon others, those who despise it, and those who let it develop naturally. It depicts a society that places unrealistic standards on relationships and defines people by superficial traits rather than character. Through its bleak cinematography and themes, the film critically questions societal expectations of love and relationships.
How does the suicidal impulse that both Romeo and Juliet exhibit relate to the overall theme of young love? Does Shakespeare seem to consider a self-destructive tendency inextricably connected with love, or is it a separate issue? Why do you think so?

Choose a film and offer an analysis of why it is an important film, and discuss it in terms of film as art. Your response should be more than a summary of the film.
I choose Forrest Gump. This masterpiece captures a movie story about romance, mentally challenged, and heartwarming character who catches the audience’s attention right away. It covers six different eras. The movie Forest Gump covers many social statements such as love, devotion to family, loyalty to others, determination, and a person’s character. These movie touches base on race relations with the black and white in the southern culture. As a viewer, you experience what it was like to live in the southern culture. His mother named him to prove we do things that do not make sense, which is contradictory to the southern culture and ideology. The differences in characters in this film remain very appealing. They shine light on the different aspects of history through the characters. Most critics base their opinion on the theme or entertainment of a film. Forest Gump gives out a positive message. Forest the character is a symbol of “good and bad.” Overall, the special effects of the historic scenes in the movie dramatize the actions of each character and scene.
Imagine you had known Plato and Aristotle and you had a conversation about how we
fall in love. Provide an overview of how Plato would explain falling in love, and then provide an overview of how Aristotle might explain falling in love.
Plato would explain falling in love is having the best kind of friendship that lovers can have for each other. Plato is the most interested in same-sex relationships between an older and a younger man. He believes in the love by those who are more given to the body than to the soul. Plato explained the rising through levels of closeness to wisdom and true beauty come from Carnal attraction. The next step would be the love for the body and soul. The last step of falling in love is not being connected through the body but entirely with being itself. The role where the friend sees her or his duty as the provision of advice, encouragement, and comfort to the other person.
Aristotle is not nearly as interested in erotic love as he is in friendship. Aristotle believe any relationship had to be about something. The relationship between men and women are so natural. He believes men and women come together because they need and want each other. They need each other in order to have children and continue to brighten this world. You should love and understand what the goal of life is with you and your significant other. You should be united with a common goal. Aristotle wants you to wish good for others for their own sake, not yours.

Love
Love is an eternal topic, but what is love? As far as I am concerned, love is the most mystical emotion in our heart which makes us feel happy, satisfied or sad. Love is also the sincere emotion springing from heart as the boiled water spilling out of the kettle. Without love, our life will be gloomy and insignificant; without love, the world is wilderness. Love is as necessary in our life just as the thread in the quilt. Of course, there are a lot of kinds of love, such as parental love, fraternal love, romantic love, and so on. Parental love is the most unselfish and greatest love in the world. We never know the love of parents until we become parents ourselves. I still remember one story about a squab and a hunting dog. While the hunting dog was attacking the squab, the mother bird flew down from the tree without hesitation to protect her baby and the parental love made the dog gave in eventually. Animals can do this, not to speak of us human beings. Our parents gave us life and brought us up; they taught us to be good men and took care of us without any complaint. This is parental love which will protect and support us forever. A true friend is the one who overlooks our failures and tolerates our successes. When we meet difficulties, our friends will never look on with folded arms. This is friendship which is a golden blossom between true friends. It is said that the love story itself is not important; the importance is that one is capable of love. For instance, Jack promised Rose that he would never give her up. Another

example is that Wale tried hard to protect Eve with clumsy behaviors but genuine heart. This is romantic love which is like a rose, bringing us happiness and sorrow. Above all, if life is a quilt, love should be a thread. It can hardly be seen, but it really exists. Without it, life becomes meaningless.
First of all, love is put one's heart and soul into her shoes. If you love someone, you will do everything for her; you will think on her side. You will reject all the temptations that can make you live better, just because you don’t want to hurt her. Secondly, love is forgiveness. No matter what the other one do to you, you will forgive her at last. You won’t treat her eye for eye. Although what she has done hurts you so much, you won’t do the same thing to, because you love her. Thirdly, love is growing old together. The outside word is so colorful, but what you want is to grow old with her together and treasure every minute with her. What’s more, you will leave a place for her forever in your deep heart, even she has passed away.
Love is a kind of emotion that everyone has. It is around us. If we pay attention, we will find it. So, do not lose the faith to believe the existence of love. It is the feeling that every can feel by heart.
For love, each person's definition is different, or it can be said that every age group of people, different understa ...

Matt Rife Cancels Shows Due to Health Concerns, Reschedules Tour Dates.pdf
The lobster
1. THE LOBSTER: A REVIEW
The movie The Lobster is a 2016 black comedy staring a Colin Farrell, Rachel
Weisz, Olivia Coleman etcetera and is a story about a dystopian future of which it
is mandatory to find “love” or you get morphed into the animal of your choosing.
THE ACTING
There isn’t a performance in this movie that fell short of great as everyone gave a
funny, intriguing and disturbing performance, Collin Farrell does a good job at
portraying a man who’s down on his luck and fed up of life due to his monotone
voice, seemingly awkward dialogue and unflinching jolted movements, almost like
he’s a robot who is trying to learn how to act human but can’t quite figure it out.
Rachel Weisz also creates a performance just as good with her equally depressing
portrayal and narration with perfect timing for maximum comedic impact and the
love and raw emotion they share together is greatly juxtaposed by the rest of the
cast, whether it be from the stern Olivia Coleman, the desperate Ben Whishaw or
John C Reilly as a innocent man you can’t help but feel sorry for.
THEMES
The movies colour pallete stays pale, bold and lifeless to mimic the just
depressing situation and circumstances that David (Colin Farrell) and a plethora
of other characters get into.
This is also carried on through the camera work that is designed to be lifeless and
uninteresting to follow the depressing chain linked by to colour pallete and
the…uhh….what it is it..oh yeah THE ENTIRE MOVIE, this is done through static
shots that only get interrupted by scenes of action that filmed in Slow Motion to
keep this calm unchanging cycle film is trying to show as no matter the place,
David can’t escape this depressing cycle created by love and more importantly
the standards of love held by society.
Love in this movie is questioned, challenged and explored as much as its
relationship with society with a couple of key subthemes explored throughout the
118 minute run time.
2. love is seen from three key perspectives, those who force it upon others,
those who despise it and those who let love blossom naturally as those
who force it and perpetuate love to be the gold standard to happiness often
result in applying not only pressure on a number of characters in the movie
but also stress as they try to find a happiness and force it to blossom and
ultimately go to extremes to achieve a happiness that doesn’t exist that
leaves them unhappy and disappointed. This is meant to be a reflection of
society and the constant oversaturation and promotion of love and the
unfair depictions and standards perpetuated by the media. Because in life
its fine to not be married at 20 something but 40-50 something then if not
you might as well be treated like a animal and nothing more, the same way
the characters get turned into animals if they do not find love, leading to
people only searching for love just for pure necessity rather than desire
which results in leaving them to live with the lie that they are “in love”
And what happens when characters are met with the truth in the movie?
They become violent and in denial to keep the lie alive as it’s what they’re
expected to do.
Furthermore there is also a “guide” to love that is used to create an
artificial substitute to the real thing with ideas such as people who
possess similar character traits like lisps, a limp or something else will
naturally possess a love for each other and in this way society focuses on
aesthetic features rather than the substance of their character which is
mirrored by the fact no character other than David has a name and in
essence humanity and every character in defined through clear traits with
no ambiguity whatsoever, for example David ask to be labelled as bisexual
and for his shoes to labelled as half sizes but is denied both time with
nonsensical reasons, almost like they are trying to deny that that goes
against status quo.
Age is also given an analysis in the movie as a character played by Ashley
Jensen is continuously looked over for her younger counterparts resulting
her trying to find peace in death
But age does not end their, the music the characters listen too reflect
certain values of certain times.
For example the depressive love despising people listen to Electronic
music and in a sense are mimicking that of teens while those who force
love upon other listen to Classical older music as to show the difference of
beliefs of the times while making love as a timeless constant.
3. On the other hand those who despise it are treated in the same regard as
their opposition as they’re both sides of the same coin and both have
radical solutions to the same problem which is rather than force love upon
people they force loveless relationships in a spiteful and pessimistic way
which is shown through the performance of Lea Seydoux with her
meaningless approach to life and vengeful approach to the love
consummated by David and Rachel Weisz’ character which results in
Rachel Weisz’ character being blinded.
And finally there is the love felt by David and Rachel Weisz that is created
through natural chemistry and other reasons that society cannot clearly
define and because of this natural approach to love they are able to live
happily, or not?
As despite their love they cannot escape societies standards and are stuck
in a cycle of depression as even at the end of the movie when they have
both found love David and Rachel both feel that in order for their love to
work they both have to be blind and the movie leaves us with the message
of the strength of society and its messages.
