“Miss Show Business” was Judy’s first album for
Capitol Records, and her first album in the LP era.
Originally released in 1955, the album celebrated its
60th anniversary in 2015. The album was re-released
on vinyl (see previous page) and it became the first
Garland album available for digital download in HD
format.
The sound on this release is fantastic! The album
sounds about a million times better than it ever did.

One of Judy’s lesser known and underrated performances is
her effective portrayal of “Jean Hansen” in the 1963 film
“A Child Is Waiting” co-starring Burt Lancaster.
The film had been remastered by Kino Classics and never
looked better. This is its premiere release on Blu-ray, one
of the few Garland Blu-ray offerings of the past year. Also
included is an audio commentary by Tom Charity, author of
“John Cassavetes: Lifeworks.”

2010’s “Judy Garland - Lost Tracks - 1929-1959” was such a
success that JSP Records commissioned a “best of” single CD
compilation.
All the tracks have been newly remastered by John H. Haley,
including the famous 1935 Decca tests and three bonus tracks
getting their premiere CD release here. The disc is, as with the
other JSP Records Garland releases, compiled and annotated by
Lawrence Schulman.
Oddly enough, this CD is one of only two major Garland CD
releases of the year. The other CD is “Swan Songs, First Flights”
which was released in Europe in 2014 and the U.S. in early 2015
(see next page).

Judy Garland sings “Merry Christmas” in In The Good Old Summertime. This is the complete MGM Records version, which is
longer than that in the film. The extended section is filled with clips of Christmas scenes from other Garland films. Enjoy!
