Renewed in Grace
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

3. As it is the month of Prophet Muhammad
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
Hazrat Abu Hurairaa
[Radi Allaahu-Anhu]
has reported that Prophet
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
have said:
“Rajab is the month of Allaah Kareem, Sha’baan is my month
and Ramadaan is the month of my
Ummaah.
4. DEDICATION
We begin by thanking, glorifying, praising
Allaah Almighty
and sending blessings, salutation and peace upon His last beloved Prophet,
Muhammad
(Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam).
And Mercy also be upon his Family, his Companions and His True Followers until
the Day of Judgment.
Aameen.
5. The month of Sha’baan is the 8th month of the
Islamic calendar and the month in which the holy
night of
Shab-e-Baraa’at
is
celebrated.
In Persian it is called 'Laiela tul Mubaarakah' and in
Urdu, it is called 'Shab-e Baraa’at'.
[Night of forgiveness]
the fifteenth night of Sha'baan.
The entire Month of Sha’baan is Blessed, with Numerous Blessing, and
Spirituals Advancement.
6.
7. In Shabaan sins are forgiven by Allaah Kareem and in
Ramadaan my people are completely purified from sins.”
There are many Ahadees of
Prophet Muhammad
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
in which he described the
Virtue and Blessings of this month.
8. Of the narrations that have reached us, verily, Dua is accepted on five nights: the
night of Jumaah, the night of E’id Al-Adha, the night of E’id Al-Fitr, the first night of
Rajab, and the 15th night of Shabaan.
Hazrat Imaam Shaafi’i
[Rahmatul Laahi ‘Alaieh]
[Al-Umm,]
9. Shaiekh Abdul Qaadir Jeelaani
[Rahmatul Laahi ‘Alaieh]
of Baghdad
says on Shabaan:
The word Shabaan [in the Arabic script] is
spelt with five letters: sheen, ‘Aiyn, Baa’,
Alif and Nuun. He says the Sheen stands
for Shaaraf [nobility], the ‘Aiyn for ‘Uluww
[sublimity], the Baa’ for birr [piety], Alif
for ulfaa [harmonious intimacy], and the
Nuun for nuur [radiant light].
10. These are the gifts from Almighty Allaah
(Exalted is He) to His servant in this month.
It is a month in which treasures are laid open,
in which blessings are sent down, in which
faults are forsworn, in which sins are
expiated, and in which benedictions are
multiplied upon our Beloved
Prophet Muhammad

(The Gift for the student who seeks the path of truth)
11. Beginning of
Shabaan
Blessing Of Fasting…
Upon the Arrival of the Sha'baan moon,
innumerous blessings are showered
upon us. Blessings are initiated which
progressively escalate so that by mid-
Shabaan the blessings have reached a
considerable amount and finally such
blessings reach their peak by the end of
Ramadaan.
12. The word Sha'baan also means
consecutively escalating
reaching height of perfection.
The virtue of the night of mid
Sha’baan has been established
from the Prophet
Muhammad
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
and has come from multiple
channels of transmission of
authentic Ahadees .
13. The Prophet Muhammad
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
has said “Shabaan has superiority over other months as
I have superiority over all the Prophet’s
[Alaiehimus-Salaam]
The Prophet
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
also said,
“Between Rajab and Ramadaan there is the blessed
month of Shabaan. People are not aware of it. The
actions of men are presented to Allaah Almighty in this
month. Therefore I like to fast when my actions are
presented to Allaah Kareem.
Hadees Shareef
14. Narrated by
Ummul Mu’mineen Hazrat Aa‘ishah
Siddeeqah
[Radiyal Allaahu Ta’aalaa ‘Anhaa]
Prophet Muhammad
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
used to fast the whole of Shabaan.
I said to him, ‘Yaa Habeeb Allaah, is Sha’baan
your most favorite month for fasting?’
He said, ‘In this month Allaah Almighty
prescribes the list of the persons dying this year.
Therefore, I like that my death comes when I am
in a state of fasting.”
[Ibn Asakir, Tafsir ad-Dar al-Manthur]
15. In another Hadees our Beloved Prophet
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
has said
“When the blessed month of Shabaan reaches you, it cleanses
your spirit to receive the blessed month of Ramadaan. Be
mindful, Shaaban is my month and anyone who keeps fast in it,
my intercession will be Waajib for him.
16. Um mul Mu’mineen Hazrat Aa‘ishah Siddeeqah
[Radiyal Allaahu Ta’aalaa ‘Anhaa] has narrated that…
The Prophet stood up in prayer during part of the night and made his prostration
so lengthy that I thought his soul had been taken back. When I saw this I got up and went to
move his big toe, whereupon he moved, so I drew back. When he raised his head from
prostration and finished praying, he
said:
“O Aa’ishah! Did you think that the Prophet had broken his agreement with you?” She replied:
“No, by Allaah, O Prophet of Allaah, but I thought that your soul had been taken back because
you stayed in prostration for so long.” He said: “Do you know what night this is?” She said:
“Allaah and His Prophet know best.” He said:
“This is the night of mid-Shabaan! Verily Allaah the Glorious and Majestic look at His servants
on “the night of mid-Shabaan, and He forgives those who ask forgiveness, and He bestows
mercy on those who ask mercy, and He gives a delay to the people of envy and spite in their
state.”
18. The Excellency of 15th Of Shabaan....
Countless Mercies …. Abundance Of Reward‘s
Laielatul Mubaarakah, Shab e Baraa’at
The night of the 15th of Shabaan or Nisf Shabaa’an is the night of the writing of destiny.
The night is also called Night of Salvation, or Night of Freedom… It is the special night of
seeking forgiveness and repenting to God, remembering past sins and sincerely settling the
mind that one will never commits sins in the future. All the deeds that are against Shari’ah
must be totally avoided so that our Du’a and Istighfaar, hopefully, will be accepted.
19. Prophet Muhammad
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] have said:
“ Hazrat Jibraeel [Alaiehis-Salaam]
came to me on the 15th of this month and said, “O,Prophet of Allaah! Look towards the heavens!”
I looked and said, “O Jibraeel! What is this night?
He said, “This is a very blessed night. Allaah Kareem opens 300 doors of mercy on this night and forgives all the
Muslims.
Rasoolul- Laah said: "Almighty Allaah forgives all Muslims on this night, besides the ….
The person who unjustly takes away the right and property of another Muslim and has not yet rectified himself.
One who deals in usury (Ribaa)
One who wears his trousers below his ankle with pride and arrogance.
(In Arabia, people displayed their wealth and boasted in this manner);
One who creates disunity among two Muslims.
One who associates Partner or anything with Him.
One who cuts ties with his relatives.
One who disobeys his parents.
One who is a habitual drunkard.
All these persons are not shown Mercy on this auspicious Night.
20. The giver is bent upon giving In this night. Where is the taker?
Prophet Muhammad
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
has stated: "Verily! Almighty Allaah directs His Special Grace on the world on this Night. He
forgives my Ummah more than the number of wool that is found on the sheep of the Bani Kalb".
We should remember that in those days the Bani Kalb possessed the most number of sheep than
any other tribe.
Great is the Mercy of Almighty Allaah on this night that He forgives millions of Muslims.
21.
22. HAZRAT ALI
[Radi Allaahu-Anhu]… saying
Our Holy Prophet [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] said that do Qiyaam [Ibadaat] in the night and
hold fast the next day because as soon as the sun sets the Blessing of Allaah Kareem
starts on this world's sky starts and HE says:
Is there anyone who seeks ‘Maghfirat’[forgiveness] so that i will give him Maghfirat, any
one asking Rizq so that i will give him Rizq is there anyone asking for relieve for problems
so i will give him relief from problems and this continues till Fajr.[Morning Prayer]
23. According to the Hadees Shareef which is narrated by Ibne Habaan
[Radi Allaahu-Anhu]
that Prophet Muhammad
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
said:
"When the night of 15th Sha’baan arrives spend the night awake and
keep fast the next day".
24. Hazrat Abu Hurairah [Radi Allaahu-Anhu] reports that the Holy Prophet
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] said often in his sermon
"O people! Lighten and cleanse your bodies by way of fasting during
Shabaan, so that it shall be easy and helpful to you for the fast
during Ramadaan. Whosoever fasts for three days during Shabaan,
all his past sins are wiped off".
[Baihaqi].
25. Hazrat Aa‘ishah Siddeeqah
[Radi Allaahu-Anha]…
reported that Prophet [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] said, “On this night Allaah Ta’aala give details of
the names of those who are to be born the coming year and those who will die in it.” The deeds
of men are taken to Him and all the provisions of man descend in it.
There are specific occurrences on this night, which are as follows:
The names of those who are to die in the coming year are given to the Angels.
The names of those who are to be born in the coming year are given to the Angels.
Those who are to receive sustenance during the coming year, their names are given to the
Angels.
Allaah Ta’aala makes a proclamation for those seeking forgiveness so that they may be forgiven.
A proclamation is also made for those seeking livelihood so that they may be given livelihood.
A proclamation is made for those in trouble so that they may be released from their troubles.
Countless people are freed from Hell.
26. Hazrat Aa‘ishah [Radiyal Allaahu Ta’aalaa ‘Anhaa] narrated in another Hadees
that the Prophet [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] said, “Allaah Kareem forgives
men of my Ummah in abundance and without account on this
night.” it is unanimously said that in this blessed night the whole of
the Qur’aan descended from Lauh-e-Mahfooz ...[Divine Tablet] to
lower [worldly] heaven and gradually to our Prophet
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam]
27. ”One should fast on the 13th 14th and 15th of Shabaan, if not on all three then fast only on the
15th Shaaban.
In order to observe the Night of Baraa'at, one should remain awakened in this night as much as
he can.
If someone has better opportunities, he should spend the whole night in worship and prayer.
However, if one cannot do so for one reason or another, he can select a considerable portion of
the night, preferably of the second half of it for this purpose, and should perform the following
acts of worship: Nafil Salaah… is the most preferable act to be performed in this night.
Tilaawat-The recitation of the Holy Qur'aan is another form of worship, very beneficent in this
night; one should recite as much of the Holy Qur'aan.
One should recite Salawaat[ Durood Shareef] on Prophet Muhammad,
[Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] as many times as he can.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO ON THE 15TH OF SHABAAN
28. The Visitors of This Night
It is narrated that the departed souls of the Muslims visit the houses of their
friends and relatives on Fridays, Eid days, 10th Muharram and Shab-e-Baraa'at
(15th Shaban), also known as Laiela tul Baraa’at. This Hadees narrated by Ibne
Abbas [May Allaah Kareem be please with him] signifies the importance of the Shab-e-
Baraa’at as well as the offering of sawaab to the dead by reading Fatihaah
through recitation of the Quraan, Zikr.
If the people of the house perform the Ieesaal-e-Sawaab and Khatm Shareef on
this night, then the souls depart with the Sawaab extremely happy and
overjoyed all the time making Dua for the people.
29. Duaa
The best benefit one can draw from the blessings of this night is prayers and supplications. It
is hoped that all the prayers in this night will be accepted by our Lord, Insha -Allaah. Prayer
itself is an 'Ibaadah, and Allaah Almighty gives reward on each prayer along with the
fulfillment of the supplicator's need.
The prayers and supplications also strengthen one's relation with Allaah Almighty, which is
the main purpose of all kinds and forms of worship.
All the deeds that are against Shariah must be totally avoided so that our Dua and Istighfaar,
hopefully, will be accepted.
On this occasion, it should be the duty of all Muslims to forgive one another and to make
sure that whatever debts owed to one another is settled. The importance of Huqooq-ul-
Ibaad cannot be over-emphasized as this is among the pre-requisites for proper Ibaadat in
Islaam.
30. Visiting The Grave Yard
Hazrat Aa‘ishah [Radiyal Allaahu Ta’aalaa ‘Anhaa]has stated that the Prophet Muhammad [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi
Wa Sallam] on Shab-e-Baraat went to Jannat ul Baaqi Cemetery and prayed to Allaah for
forgiveness for men, women and martyrs.
[Ibne Majah]
One should visit the cemetery during this night and pray for the deceased buried therein, as
the Holy Prophet [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] is been reported as having visited the cemetery on
this night and spending a long time therein, lamenting, reading and praying for the deceased
